Project: Ten-Dollar

Sorry bro, I'm gonna have to lay you off and create this $10 project so I don't lose a dime off my paycheck.

Project: Ten-Dollar

Yeah, every EA game is required to have "free DLC" on release, which is already on the disc.

Before you guys go jumping on the bandwagon, you might want to look at Gamestop first. Buying used games doesn't support the publishers in any way, all of that money is going to Gamestop. It is shitty that you have to pay $10, but that's the world of games (and hey it's only $10).

The problem I have is all of this is tied to your console. If you want to go to a friends house to show them the game, you won't be able to access the content if you put the game disc into their console. How nice of them!

One thing you can learn after walking away from this is that everybody (even publishers) hates Gamestop. It's cool to hate EA, but Gamestop is far worse.

Hey, maybe they could try making the DLC interesting and a good deal, not huge failures like every DLC ever made for any console.
Fallout 3....?

Stupid stuff from your childhood that nobody else remembers

stupid and also the best. I posted something similar in that other cartoon thread.

Youtube Kablam for all the shows like Action League Now.

Do you prefer "strong" or "sissy" protagonists?

Do you prefer "strong" or "sissy" protagonists?
Sticking to either one is bad. I will address the personality side of this, not the looks.

During a game, characters usually go through multiple stages of growth. The events that transpire around them will affect them. The characters they interact with will affect them. If a tragedy happens to a strong character, he will become discouraged and maybe even change completely. The same goes for a character who starts off emotionally weak. Characters should lose hope or pride, but eventually find a way to get back on their feet. Your characters shouldn't be some superhero, they should be human. They will fall, be betrayed, cry, get angry, make mistakes, and eventually rise again. It makes things interesting.

Go back to sprites and the looks problem is 95% solved. 8)

Unless it's Mai Shiranui.

The Dreaded P Word

Those signatures pretty much say it all.

I am glad we do not have signatures.

The Dreaded P Word

My philosophy is that you can go ahead and steal, but you are putting your game and your respect on the line. There can be long term effects to this. It is a dangerous path...

5 Reasons It's Still Not Cool to Admit You're a Gamer

Can any of us really agree on any one game that we think is great? What constitutes a great game? What is the criteria?
I absolutely hate the GTA games, but I respect them. There is no doubt in my mind that they are incredible games, but they are just not for me. Sure, a lot of reviewers got a week off with a free hotel and food when they reviewed GTA IV, but I think what really determines a great game from a good game is its lasting power. A good game gets favorable reviews for the first week of release (paid off reviews), and most of the real reviews come in a little bit late and are the ones done by regular guys. A great game only comes after the dust has settled, which is usually months/years after release. By this time, if the game generally has little to no negative reviews and developers are already stealing its design and concepts, it's a great game. And if anybody can jump into a game 5 years after its release and still give it praise, then I would consider it a great game.

Craze's Dirty Little Secret

If you used words rather than numbers, this wouldn't be a problem! Actually, I really hate numbers in a skill description, but that's just my preference.

But I am down for the concept. Valve's Left 4 Dead series does a very similar thing with scaling the amount of items and enemies depending on how bad or good you are doing (Director AI). It's not a hidden mechanic (it's actually their main one), but you never know how it actually works. It makes the game what it is. An RPG doing this would be cool if there isn't one yet.
