How long can you tolerate dialogue to be?

I agree with Kentona, combining the dialogue with either visuals or having the player make a choice can usually make dialogue tolerate for long amounts of time. The problem with most amateur games that I've been playing is that when the creator tries to emphasize on the story, they usually just show a blank screen with text scrolling. There needs to be some sort of visual or interactive aspect accompanying the text. Usually I just add animations to the characters, but depending on the type of game you're going for, you might make things more visual or more interactive.

Man a lot of you "GW Refugees" are pretty damn annoying. I just read through that big topic on GW and there's nothing wrong with what they want to do. They want to expand GW's potential to something beyond RPG Maker, so the site appeals to actual indie game developers, and I'm behind that 100%. I don't even get the drama and I have a hard time understanding how anybody could be AGAINST that.
Yeah I'm all for it. Honestly, when Sanosuke and Blindmind(no offense to you guys I love you all) came in and said "WELL I DIDN'T READ THE TOPIC BUT YOURE ALL WRONG" and proceeded to flame and call everyone elitist, I kinda just went =x. The only thing that did was make us look even worse(and then you wonder why they hate us). But on the flip side, they give off that feeling of pushing the others to the side without consulting them first. There definitely needs to be more active G&Ders outside of the G&D forum.
GW doesn't want to be dedicated to just RM, which is a good thing. The people who are just dedicated to that though might feel a little out of place, since they are trying to expand quite a bit. It might be awhile though, they never really seem to actually do much other than change the forums around.

Basically, they need GW6 to accomplish what they want. Period.

This isn't an issue of cost, Bart has said that himself. In fact, the Happy Zoo forum and all the things they store there costs way more than anything on that forum. Rami and DS have said that themselves since they're technically the ones who own GW now.

By the way, nothing is really wrong with the RM scene. Yes, I hardly download any RPG Maker games anymore because 90% of them really do suck, but the same is applied to any game making program. It doesn't matter if another maker has more "features" or is more flexible than one another. The argument that people need to move on is pretty stupid!

But uhm, yeah let's definitely leave the drama over there. I want some games from all of you.

Microsoft/Apple? Which one do you use?

Microsoft. Apple products are too expensive. They don't even need to be the price they are.
That being said, Apple products are pretty high quality, much higher than your average PC computer. The "myth" though that Apple is more secure is a complete lie though. There just aren't as many things to worry about. And yeah, Windows XP rocks.

On a side note though, I will be getting the new 3G iPhone!

We need some Politics. Your thoughts?

Meh, if you do the math Clinton can't win, that's pretty much been established. I think she's the one hurting the party, much more than Obama. She attacks him way too much, and he almost always seems to be on the defensive. They are nearly identical candidates in terms of policies, but one has much better judgement than the other.
Yeah she has to win like 70% or more of the remaining superdelegates, which isn't happening because her 200 superdelegate lead is now at 20. There are less than 10 states left, with her being behind by a lot. Look at the math. =D

But fuck I really do hope one of them drops out soon. Seriously, the attacks are POINTLESS. And I'm afraid that if Obama wins Clinton won't support him.

Guess the Game!!!

Should have waited for Shinan....but eh, I guess I'll answer yours, Tau.
Prey.

Hint: This is the SNES version. There is also a Sega Genesis version. The answer is not the Sega Genesis version, since the name of that game is totally different.

Hello, Lufia 2.

*INSERT TEAM FORTRESS 2 BRAGGING HERE*
I promise there's nothing to see here.

My old computer. It's about 4 years old, but still works! It's collecting dust in my closet as of right now.

I still miss the days of my old little shack, where I had a pretty nice setup.

A trip to walmart at the middle of the night resulted in this. Shit.

Yeah, everything was piled on top of our pool table.

The images are stretching....I guess I made some too big?

As for my graphics, they are from... a secret place... (not Terranigma)
I see what you did there. It's okay, I won't tell either.

Ocean, that's really nice! I think it's a little weird that the vases are half the size of the church windows/glass, but it's still incredible. Really nice work.

Top Ten Topic: Consoles!

Oh man this is tough.

1. Super Nintendo(if you use rpg maker this should automatically be your favorite)

2. Playstation 1(Nostalgia.)

3. Playstation 2(Best library of games next to the SNES)

4. Xbox 360(This would be number 1 simply because of how GOOD online play is with your friends. Seriously, if you don't have a 360 you're missing out)

5. PC(Starcraft, Half-Life 2, and the best fucking graphics ever)

6. PSP(I play games from my #1 and #2 top ten list on this)

7. Sega Genesis(Sonic, Streets of Rage, X-men, Phantasy Star)

8. Gameboy Advance(I remember trading pokemon at school!)

9. Nintendo 64(Super Smash Brothers, Mario 64...not much else)

10. Wii(Shouldn't be on here, but I couldn't think of anything else to put)

And you are...? (THE INTRODUCTION THREAD)

I realize that I have been a member here for about 8 months and never posted. Since I know pretty much every member here, I think I'll be sticking around. So yeah, I like what I see here, and hello to you all.
