Well, this stinks

2. My computer didn't crash, but it corrupted the script file inside MoS, and then promptly changed the file type and locked the Act III file, making it impossible to open, which I have to do to fix the problem in the first place.
BACK. YOUR. SHIT. UP.

I'm having surgery at the end of August, and I won't be doing much for a while.
How major is it? Good luck!

The moral here is to use RMN's free hosting because its free and awesome and why the heck wouldn't you.
When you're uploading a file at .2MB/s with no indication of how long you have left on the download, it makes more sense.

(Although now I use Chrome I think it makes its own little percentage bar so next time I probably will!)

I'd like to point out none of my games without reviews are on this list, despite having downloads(although, there's one I wouldn't want a review of and one I don't really need feedback on so this isn't really a big deal). Probably because they're off-site or something? But anyway, this isn't even an exhaustive list, which makes you wonder how long the ACTUAL list would be.
Dude, if the games aren't in RMN's database, of course they aren't going to show up on the list!

Edit: Or is it that the games are there, but the downloads themselves are off-site? If so, that could be a bug.
Yeah, I mean the actual downloads are off-site, it'd be kind of weird to expect them to just magically appear on this list. ;P They haven't been appearing on any of the other lists of games w/o reviews, either. It's kinda strange!

What RMN game are you playing now?

Just finished the demo of Guild Raider.

Before that I tried Tale of Exile. It was really good but the lag on the battle system brought my computer to a grinding halt.

Also WTF:

I've started the process of catching up on what I've missed with Ascendence, and MAN this is a pretty game, with fantastic cityscapes and clever effects. What an elevator! I'm not nearly as impressed with the dialogue so far, especially for the White Saint, but maybe it'll grow on me or it'll turn out that he has a good reason for talking like he does.

FINISH LINE'S END.
He came back for a little while to instil false hope in the masses. He then silently fled without warning.

The Customer Is Always Right - Perception Of Designer & Player "Responsibilities" In Amateur & Commercial Video Games

I think the issue is when a company makes a game, they've got a niche in mind, and generally find enough people that fit into the niche to stay profitable. Here, you get so little attention that the need to appeal to every single person is amplified. Unfortunately, this isn't a particularly sustainable attitude, and can cause people to burn out because they're so busy reworking their game to suit everyone that they're no longer getting anywhere.

Hands up if you've changed something in your game because of criticism, only to have someone complain about the exact opposite issue in the new version. People have different tastes, and the key is recognising who your market is, and which criticisms are down to taste and which are down to quality.

Yeah, it took me about 10 seconds LOOKING for clouds on that pic you used to replace mine to see the difference. Same with the birds/rain.

@LockeZ:
I didn't read all of them, but from I did read combined with what you've said about your views on game design, I think there's something you're doing wrong.

All of these skills are based on negatives. Everything has a cooldown, or damages you, or does less damage each time you use it, etc. The problem with this is that a good strategy equates to "not getting fucked over by the negative effects", rather than "using the positive effects you your advantage". With your build, players have to use different attacks each turn, but it's not because they WANT to ro feel it's the better option, it's because if they DON'T then they're going to start kicking their own ass. The only cool tricks that you can pull of with these moves involve avoiding the negative consequences of actions, which is a cool tactic when a) it's not normal or b) the resulting effect is something amazing, but here everything seems to be based around not burning yourself out.

It looks like Dak is a lot better about this than the other two, but the first guy is just based on this stuff and the last one is kind of arbitrarily limited.

The Do's and Don'ts of Mapping Part 5

idk I appreciate that you're trying to put some rules out for this stuff but I really don't like your examples. :\ Sometimes the difference between the "good" and "bad" isn't obvious, and sometimes the "good" just isn't... good.

I agree with this, but why isn't it an article?
EDIT: derp just read the disclaimer. yes it should be an article.
