Phoenix Mafia: Online Turnabout

My role PM says my clients are protected from night actions, so I'm not sure.

having the detective claim and making him/her invulnerable is a good idea imo

Yeah, an invulnerable detective alongside myself and the piano is a pretty good start to the game, even if our prosecutor may have earned himself a penalty for the next day/night phase.

CAVE, how do feel LockeZ seems MORE town now?
I disagree with his thought process but he is explaining it coherently. I also feel that if he were scum he would have probably backpedaled a bit by now.

This is a good point. He's really forceful on the matter, and his aggression seems mostly genuine.

Phoenix Mafia: Online Turnabout

That said, mind sharing your thoughts on the matter at hand, CAVE? Mainly regarding Liberty and LockeZ.

There's a few different players I have bad reads on. I'm still debating whether to deliberately pick one of said players with a bad read as my client so I can objection vote their scummy ass into oblivion during the next day phase...if they turn out to be scum.

My other thought is asking the detective to out themselves, but I don't even know if that's permitted. Less of the outting (because said detective will be immune to night actions if they're my client) and more that the detective will be able to speak to both myself AND the piano if I pick correctly.

I mean, false claiming detective is impossible, because the piano knows who it is, and it's also stupid, because if I pick a false positive detective as my client, I'll know you're scum after the night phase is finished.

Oh good, someone said what I really wanted to but decided I was too much of a professional to actually do.

Anyway, I suspect that the day will be over by the time I get on next, unless I jump on tomorrow morning. So I'll be picking my client pretty soon.

And in case I need to formalize it, #no lynch.

Phoenix Mafia: Online Turnabout

I-IDIOT?

Yeah, well, whatever. The witnesses can do what they like, I'm going to do my job. I'm not voting today...well, unless I can vote without objecting.

Your algebra fails to factor in town powers. Going by sheer blind lynching, yes, there is a 40% win possibility, but not all of our lynches are going to be blind. Which is why I stand by a nolynch on day one. In simpler games with only a Doctor and an Investigator (and possibly a vigilante), your logic would be sound, but that's not the case here.

It's unlikely any day besides the first will result in a no lynch. I've never seen that happen in any mafia game I've ever played. But at current, all townies are alive, so all town powers are in play. Randomly lynching a potential town member means we're possibly down one power and one player. That is more likely to decrease our possibility of winning over anything else.

formatting my posts takes so fucking long i hope you're all appreciating my effort here

I'll admit that I'm assuming there's two scum because of the player count. Three is possible, but based on numbers I have estimated two. Neither me or the piano count as town members-- if everyone else dies, the town loses (because we can't be lynched. We get to witness this whole thing to the end, trainwreck or not.)

My time zone is so god-damn whack, I came back to eighty notices today. Fun times.

Anyway, like I said, if we lynch today and get a townie and someone is nightkilled or converted tonight (if there is, indeed, a mastermind) we are down to at least one scum and seven town, or at worst three scum and five town. All we literally get 'information' wise is this:

- we've killed a townie, or killed scum (and at this point I think CAVE is town, but that's based on current events)

- LockeZ pushed for a day one lynch when it wasn't actually going to be helpful.

If CAVE does turn out scum, he's shown almost zero allegiance to anyone.

Deducing who the rest of scumtown is based on a CAVE lynch is nigh impossible. Frankly, unless CAVE is actually scum and that gets us an advantage, lynching him is useless.

I will point out that LockeZ has shifted his lynch vote to Cave, which is a less suspicious tactic and something that typically happens in every mafia game we play. Cave's general aggression makes him a popular target.

So there's every chance he reassessed his logic... or he realized that directing an attack toward YM like that was suspicious, and decided that he needed to change it.
