I'm currently outside the first DLC boss door helping people fight it. I've died that many times against it I can nearly dodge all his attacks. I've got Ludwigs Holy Blade in one hand, (for the Kin) and standard Saw Cleaver (for the beasts).

Well, how abut just not worrying on how to present it and just do what comes natural, you can edit and refine the more delicate aspects at a later date.

Probably the best way would be to throw such matters like that in casually, if the characters treat things like that like it's no biggie, normally the player will, as well. If you make a massive song and dance about those sorts of things, alarm bells ring in players heads.

It is a bit too garish isn't it. fortunately, the window background, and window border are two separate things, so changing that won't be a problem! Thanks for pointing it out.

@Frogge: Will the player be able to see where they're going wqith the lamp switched off? (one thing that bothers me about modern survival horror is as soon as the torch is off it's pitch black like the player character suddenly went blind)


Does the text clash too much with the window background... I'm thinking it might benefit from a colour change... but I don't know what to.

I did not see that, I'm still kind of getting used to VX Ace, thank you for pointing that out. I was trying to figure out how to do new game plus rewards based on how many times the player saved, and I was racking my brains. If only I had looked, duh XD

With the conditional branch, is there anyway of checking how many times a player has saved their game, so for example.

Conditional Branch: Script: Player has saved x times

So, after looking at it, and thinking, and looking at it again... I decided to try anti-aliasing the text, and this is the result.
