RAMZA'S PROFILE
I've spent a large part of my 26 years designing video games, mostly in my head. When I discovered RPG Maker 2000, I finally had a medium to put my thoughts down into, and I did.
At the time of its release, Mana Conquest was massive - even a ten hour long game was insane in those days, and the graphics kind of sucking was generally overlooked, due to the scope of the project.
Several years since, and I'm a bit embarrassed concerning how bad the first game really was. I've tried to fix that in the sequel, but between when I started, and now, there have been three new RPG Makers, and since they don't allow backwards compatibility, I've been stuck on RM2k3. Shameful.
I've come too far to quit now, though.

The Final Fantasy XIII topic
post=131199Did I miss something, there? Because I didn't quite get what that was all about...
Bad guy: "I want you all to kill Orphan."
Party: "We aren't your pawns, we're gonna follow our own path!" *kills Orphan, anyway*
Party: "Take that, fal'cie! That'll teach you to give us orders that we'll b!tch and moan about and then do, anyway!"
I noticed that too. I thought I missed something at first, but upon relooking at it, I'm pretty sure that the good guys were fighting fate by going against barthandelus' wishes, which as it turned out were
his intention the entire time
So, I got "Pokemon: SoulSilver"
So I ended up buying it...
btw anyone with HG wanna swap some version specific guys? I need a mantine and a gligar, I have a skarmory and a delibird for trade. :D

Strange error rm2003
the GR_chipset.pas isn't a file in the rtp folder, it's a class inside the rpg_rt exe. The error was being caused by some kind of corrupted map file in the database. making a new, identical map fixed it because the new map wasn't corrupted.
I would wager the crash occured because rm2k(3) probably weren't designed with huge panorama maps in mind, and no other reason. but I would definitely suggest you make a backup of your project, just incase the error happens again, or more frequently, or causes a maptree error that's unrecoverable.

a different way, although a bit more involved would be to make the common event memorize the hero's location and then compare it to a list of exact coordinates for hidden treasure. Doing it this way would allow you to place hidden items closer to teleports or other events that would normally prevent you from turning off the 'flag' switch after stepping off the main square.
Although, there would be a lot more variable use in that method, so yours is definitely much better for a newer user to do.
Very informative tutorial, however.

Can you name all the Pokémon Characters (Generation 1)?
145.
I missed execute and exeggutor, despite being a large part of my team back in blue version. I feel sad now.

Think it's time for moveable battle animated monsters?
post=129245I would, except these newfangled engines don't allow the import of even extremely basic data (such as switches, or hero names, even), thereby making any of the work I've done on the game in the last couple of years completely worthless.
Jesus. Did you really do that?
The easiest way to do it is what craze said. Or just use a more powerful engine!
Hint: use a more powerful engine.
I enjoy stretching the limits of the default system. Upon replaying, it would be pretty hard for the player to realize how I made the enemy appear to "disappear" to reappear in front of the party perform his attack and then return. That's the kind of customization I look for in a DBS game.
edit: I could have done it with every enemy in the game, but that was farther than I was willing to go. This boss disappears before his attacks because his animations are basically a palette swap of one of the PC's. I figured it would look much more awesome if he wasn't on screen when those animations played, I believe I was right.

The last battle in the current MC:Vengeance demo has what some would call an animated monster in it. But basically I made it so that every few turns, the bad guy uses a move that turns on a switch, that makes him transform into an invisible enemy with 999 speed, and inflicts a status effect on the party that makes them stop acting during the time it's up. The invisible enemy uses his attack, and on his next turn transforms back into the boss, and removes the status effect. It's a bit more delayed than I would like it to be, but it's better than showing a battle animation that contains the monster in it, while the monster is still on screen.
