Wow, the official RPG Maker site forum rules are..... wow!
It's the official forums of Degica. To maintain their image, they are going to have a strict set of restrictions on what people say or do on the boards because an "off-topic" (which is, IMO, very subjective when dealing with a medium like games) thread or debate is bound to make the company itself seem unprofessional.
That's pretty much how it is for the official boards of most companies, really. In spite of that, what mawk mentioned about such a system being susceptible to leaving bigotry unpunished holds true. I was recently banned from a game forum for calling someone out on being an elitist jerkwad towards a casual player.

Like, I'm really horrified by how so many of you are making strawmen of my arguments and turning it around to hypocrisy. And then you guys compare it to Pizza's and Corf's tastes like it's the same thing. I've never seen Pizza saying that he'd fuck live animals and that anyone who says he shouldn't make that public is a "libtard." Same with Corf on his inflation fetish. I don't care about what fetishes people have, I have my own as well. What disgusted me was how the guy responded to criticism of his behavior with a desperate attack, and that actually doesn't compare to the way staff handled it.
That's actually the true intent of this status. I'm actually agitated less by that new person's spiel and more by the ridiculous double-standards the moderation team employs.
Also, to all those disappointed with me for "not being open-minded" and letting these people thrive, you're right. I have little tolerance for people who follow belief systems of which are fundamentally built on the intolerance and dehumanization of other groups of people.

I like variety in my forums, too! We do that by purging the shitlords who go out of their way to make certain groups of people feel uncomfortable about posting here. Take off the blindfold; we actually don't have as much variety as you think.
