ROWAN'S PROFILE
Rowan
131
I'm just a guy interested in making an RPG. I started using RPG Maker way back in RM2k days. My first game was wiped out when my old CPU crashed so yeah.. I decided to make a new one and have been working on it ever since. I mostly enjoy lurking around the RMN forums but I've decided to become more active in the community. I can be a smart-ass at times, but I'm generally an easy going friendly dude.
P.S: Oh yeah, I'm gay (seriously)

-If you look closely, the sand tiles on the beach don't mesh well with some of the surrounding sand parts.
-The random rectangular shadows are REALLY rectangular. Although this is more of a VX problem though.
-These shadows I mention above are not consistent.
Only faults I see.

"Selling Feature" of your game
"Selling Feature" of your game
Well the only features of my game so far that I currently actively "sell" is the battle system and the characters. My CBS is a personal challenge to myself as I always wanted to create a grandia-esque CBS in RM. As for the character design, I hope for someone to be like "Hmm, a somewhat chubby and mature jrpg main hero? That's different.."
The features I've planned out are very interesting and will definitely by a scripting challenge, but like most RM games they're currently nothing more then mere ambitions until I have something to show for.
I only plan to promote my RM game to an RM related site. Currently the only 2 places I advertise the game is here and Charas forums. To the majority at GW, RM as a whole is dead; so there's really no point going there. Once I have more to show I might branch off to Crankeye or Blade2k..

At Your Service- The Menu
I'm all for beautiful menu's as long as it stays SIMPLE. A fairly good example of this IMO is Xenosaga's U.M.N. Menu.

The execution and design was really well done. It felt more like a personal handheld computer rather then your typical blue rectangular menu. The bunny, or the menu's guide, at the side sometimes hold conversations with the protagonist regarding emails and other things...
Too bad the game didn't really expand on that aspect. With some experimenting they could have gave the menu an actual personality of some sort. Yeah a menu that could talk back to me and poke fun at would be icing on the cake.
Other Idea I Just thought of:
-A menu screen that periodically scrolls through various information; Giving interesting knowledge about the games world, it's people, monsters etc.. all while customizing your characters. It could work.. if you have the room. :P
