Words you know, but don't know the meaning of

Could someone explain this concept of masturbation to me. It always seem to come up but I have no idea what it is.

Anticipated games the most of 2009

Empire FUCKING Total War obviously!

I can't wait to kick ass throughout the world with my muskets. (too bad the game was delayed until March, but man is it going to be great. I've been hyped since August last year at least.)

RE5 would be nice too but I'm one of those with only the Wii. And the whole forced co-op in RE5 might be a great thing but I'm not entirely sure.

EDIT: I'm also sort of looking forward to Football Manager 2010. It's about time I got a new Football Manager game.

EDIT2:
And Half-Life 2 Episode 3 better come out this year. I'm looking forward to that too.

Hey where is my Max Mcgee?!

Barack Obama until bedtime
What gender of your preference are you a slave to?
Post your Enterbrain Maker
What does it take for you to work until bedtime?
What annoys you... Where's Max McGee when you need him?

Where's Your Username From?

Shinan was the name of my first roleplaying game character. His complete name was Shinan Llerak (Llerak being my last name backwards) and he was an Elven Ranger (or the ranger equivalent that the game I played had).

I actually only played one session with Shinan (since I was destined to become a GM) but the name stuck and there's often an NPC in campaigns I run called Shinan.

Country: Finland

OMG, Finlaaaaaaaaand !!!

<--- him, he's finnish ! ^^ (SUOMI \o/)

It's one of my big dreams to go in Finland. ^^

PS : what's your first name ? :3 Cause I love finnish first names. ^^ (Jari, Petri, Meiju, Jukka... it sounds very good for a french ^^)
Unfortunately I'm Finland-Swedish so I have a Swedish name (Jan, though the nickname Jaane sounds a bit more finnish...). But there are other Finns in the community and they probably have more Finnish names :D

What State or Country Are You From?

Country: Finland
Province: Southern Finland
Region: Nyland/Uusimaa
Town: Raseborg/Raasepori
Neghbourhood: Karis/Karjaa centre
Street: Centralgatan/Keskuskatu

Yeah it's probably best not to have a closer location than that...

Official RMN Changes

author=Sam link=topic=2967.msg57800#msg57800 date=1232705570
I already asked most of the questions I had about it on IRC last night.
You don't happen to have a log? So I don't need to reask some of the questions (if they were those regular questions)

Official RMN Changes

HAHAHAHAHA What!

Man I weas looking forward to RMN3 and actually believed it would come out. I guess I'm just that gullible. I believed GW would release last winter too. I'm so easily fooled.

I suppose all chances for the real reorganization went away with WIP then? So much for change...

To be honst I really don't know what to do now. The page as it is is just horrible and unbrowsable and I really wanted the shift of focus from the forums to the real content.

Damn ;_;

Questions about french and english compatibility

I had no problems creating files with the odd letters. I have a Swedish XP installation. However I would suggest you only use "regular web friendly" letters for file names. It's usually best that way. (so instead of having seigneur_suprême.exe just have seigneur_supreme.exe)

Can Fangames Be Good?

I think fangames get a lot of shit because many fangames are... Well... They don't "get it". Many fangames are made by overenthusiastic kids who think "this and that is the coolest ever!". Or sometimes (especially in fanfiction) they think something was wrong in the original and want to change it. X and Y should have gotten together not X and Z. Or adding a character that is essentially the author wanting to be part of the coolness (Mary-Sue).

However I think that there's great potential in making fangames that are set in predetermined settings, using characters that are already known. Playing around in that universe for a bit. I like the idea of fanfiction. Numerous "what if" scenarios and stuff like that. But I like fanfiction that follows canon as closely as possible, fanfiction that plays in unexplored areas of a setting. I guess most just want to see their favorite characters do stupid stuff but I want... Essentially "spinoffs".

The problem with making a fangame that follows canon is that there's so much to think about and so much that can be wrong that IN FACT it takes more effort to make a good fangame than it takes to make an original.
