You let the secret out of the bag, now we'll see Yanfly's melody engines everywhere and people won't be able to claim they made it. I'm not naming any names, but there's a few people with VX games on this site that don't give credit for her engine.

I get errors with that thing all the time. I think you're supposed to use it and only it. Start taking out your other scripts.

Hmmm... I don't remember which is the left and right half, but you will find one of the halves in a frozen cave. You will find the other half in a castle ruins that you will need a boat to get to. Its somewhere in the northern part of the map.

Wanting to make your game difficult.
Don't make your game hard. When you're competing against a ton of games... there's easier ones out there.
However, if you make a challenge, follow it up with something easy.
Also don't let the deaths take too much time. Get the player RIGHT BACK in the game.
There's the Mario method too, let people play a few hours before it gets tough.

Encounters & Dungeon Design
Funny I did the same thing. People complain when they have to fight. So that's why I opened up spaces to run around. Think of how Zelda 1 was so open.
1. No enemies with puzzles.
