Hi, I want to ask for a little advice here. Im thinking about getting Marvel Vs Capcom 3 for my PS3.
Can anyone give some advice/good and bad points about the game? I never really played fighter games that much, but I like the idea, and for example loved little fighter 2. But games like Mugen with 3 types of kick/punch are quite hard to get into. How hard is it to get into MvsC ? Is it good? Is the online play accesible for a newbie?

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?
Apart from Cross Edge, Im having a good time playing Magicka, an indie rpg about ... magic :D You play a wizard, combining elements and creating various fun spell effects. Simple, fun, and the world is full of humor and references to games/movies etc... No loot, no levels, just you, your magic, and ton of enemies to fry/smash/freeze.... you get the point :D And if you can get someone else to play with you, double the fun.

Well, I hope its still a great game with the right feeling, but for example "younger" Dante was already in DMC3 where they explained his early days, and how the shop got its name etc..... Dont like the visual change, but if everything else is in place, I will still give it a try.

The next DMC game is reportedly an "origin" story featuring a younger Dante; also, development will be done by an English company (Ninja Theory, known for Heavenly Sword), not by an in-house Capcom team.
It will be different from the rest of the series, for better or worse. I'm not a fan of (even more) goth emo Dante but will reserve any judgments for after I've seen the final version of the game in action. I can deal with cosmetic changes (as long as they stay in Dante's past) if the feel of the main series remains.

I didnt even know there was a trailer.... It looks like its got the action, but Dantes personality seems gone.... They should have just created a new character, like they did in DMC4.... Wwhaa... what.. what did they do to Dante ? AAARGH.... Its like after all the Half-lifes they give Gordon a female voice and a giant pink affro.....
Now calm answer: I personally liked Dante the way he is in DMC3 and 4, and I love him the most (his personality and looks) in the anime. Hes just so cool, just the way he should be.
I wonder what led the developers to this change. He kinda reminds me of that guy from The 5th Element, the guy who lived next to Korben and got busted by the police.
EDIT: To add to my list : Grim Dawn, ARPG from creators of Titan Quest. Any new ARPG I must play!
What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?
Currently playing Cross Edge, after losing will to keep playing Trinity Universe. Got to around lvl 65 on my characters, and started to notice, that this game is bland, shallow, and every skill, monster attack and monster variation looks the freaking same. Partially because of the fact that the game is in 3D I think, so its harder/more expensive to add variation. I got to the last boss in Kanatas story, he kicked my ass, and I dont feel like grinding just to go for a proper true end playthrough.
I hope Hyperdimension Neptunia will be better.
I never reply in such way, because its you know, stupid and pointless, and this kind of reply would suit some random angry kid/person who hides behind the anonymity of the internet. I like other people's opinions, if they arent just flaming/pointless arguing :D
Besides, how could someone ever reply that Cross Edge is "the best game EVAR". Many people like it, I like it, but there are better games. Maybe if they made Cross Edge 2, with original charactes and better design, while keeping the battle system...... mmmm, that would be great :D Though not probable :/

It might be objectively, but if somebody is having fun while playing it, it doesnt matter. :)
Mind you I didnt finish it (though I plan to), but ... I loved the combat, breaking/overkilling enemies was fun, chaining combos and discovering them was fun too. I liked synthetizing new items to help me fight.
Though I am very well aware of its flaws, namely the searching for events, the fact that in some battles you were FORCED to use characters you werent using/equiping/leveling, so on the hard difficulty, the game needed a LOT of grinding. Also the fact that you need multi-paged guide just to reach the true ending and the best post game areas...... Really, whats the deal with true endings that have ridiculous requirements, nobody could figure on their own..... But if you get over these flaws, there is fun to be had. But I agree that objectively, this game is BAD, and some of the designer choices must have been made while they were high on pot or something....
Sorry for OT again, but as somebody stated before, if everybody just posted the name of the games they are playing, this thread would get boring imho :) This way it can also be used for finding games, and opinions about them.
What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?
Playing Trinity Universe, as it arrived from Ebay today. So far I am enjoying it quite a lot, seems like I like (excuse the use of such a phrase) NIS games for the PS3. Its similar to Cross Edge in many ways, yet it plays better, and I like it more. And since I for one LIKED Cross Edge, this game should keep me occupied for a while.
Played it and finished it this morning while waiting for my sister to wake up so I could get on my pc. Felt too easy, too short (yeah yeah, I know flash games tend to be short in general), too repetitive, and it was kinda hard on the eyes, ie. it was too clustered and hard to see whats going on. Though upgrading your units and giving them silly hats was a fun part.
