Attention to detail

So just now, I watched Braveheart again for the first time in many years, and being a bit older now than I am then, I noticed alot of small details that I didn't the last time. There's a lot of these small things in this movie that demands that the viewer actually pays attention to them. For example, Wallace is given this embroidered piece of cloth from his wife on their wedding. It's never overly zoomed in on or shown in flashbacks (that alot of movies seems to love to show you, presuming you're an idiot that can't remember something for more than 5 minutes).

This cloth follows Wallace through the whole movie, and it's a wonderful detail that I think gives Wallace some more depth than just a barbaric warrior (not that he's shown to be that). I love small details like this that demands that viewers, or for that matter players, pay attention to them without being important to the overall plot.

Do you put stuff like this into your creations? Do you have any examples from movies/games that you liked? It's mostly a visual thing, I guess, but maybe it's possible to do stuff like that in text-only stories? How would you do it?

Any new games that may potentially redeem that embarrassment of a franchise coming out?
The embarrassing part of the franchise is the nostalgia-addicted fanbase. -_-

I'd say the embarrasing part of the fanbase is the people that wants to have sex with those things. Either way I dunno why they keep making new games. Nobody but a really small, really weird group of people want them. Plus, all the new games are shit, from what I heard.

Nitpicking about numbers is fun and all, but even if it's just 1/10 (it's not) that doesn't give a shit if someone nukes the western parts of the world (and especially non-hetero people), that's still a shit-ton more than I'm comfortable with. Scream "racism" like little children all you want, but that's my view on it.

You're right, Mein Kampf is the greatest book ever written.
That was sarcasm.
I'm not being sarcastic when I say it's an interesting read and really helps to understand the mind of a man who would be called by most as the worst person ever (even though there are legit some just as bad, if not worse than him... not many, but some - Genghis Khan, Pol Pot, Mugabe, those Kim fuckers from Korea, Stalin, Mao... you know, all the 'greats').

Well worth a read.

You're right. It's hard to not think about where something comes from once you know, though. Especially if it's something you dislike, maybe I wouldn't listen to a song from it even if it was good. Cuz' it kinda takes the enjoyment I get out of it if it constantly reminds me of something I dislike.

To imply that a 'majority' of Muslims across the world would say that murdering 50+ people was a good thing is racism.

It's a fact that Islam as a religion (and in effect, the followers) says to do bad shit to people putting dicks where they don't think they belong. But it's not an insignificant number that support shit like bombings. Call me a racist all you want but if anyone is racist, it's muslims.

It depends on if people still actually play the game.
