5 - Fuck is considered to be an acronym meaning either Fornication Under Consent of King or Found Under Carnal Knowledge. The historical truth (as far as we know) is that it is from a satirical poem, circa 1500 AD. fuccant in the translated Latin. It's an interesting word.
The acronym etymologies are false and it's most likely from Germanic roots, like most of the other English curse words, which, IIRC, were originally considered bad language when the Normans took over Britain and lauded their language over the native tongue.
(Pretty much any acronym etymology for swears is false.)

Lying to and deceiving the player
Generally, it's more annoying if you imply a player CAN do something, and then prevent it somehow. I think it's fun when I'm rewarded for exploring and testing boundaries by getting more of an impact on the story (or at least some swag).
I'm not sure I could offer any real advice on achieving it, since the question as-is is a bit vague.

Anyway PA town claimed all the way back on page 6, which was really early on and I believe that besides Libby is the only one to have town claimed so far, which strikes me as odd.
I've repeatedly stated I'm a good egg, though I suppose that could be interpreted in other ways. I am a townie.

Sorry for the silence- I was busy getting a haircut up here in space. I admit feeling a little shell shocked about the Liberty affair: she does seem suspicious, unless, say, she's a bad egg trying to turn sunny side up.
That being said, I mostly have little to contribute that others haven't said already, and I tend to be silent in such cases. I'll try to come out of my shell more often after the weekend*, particularly when I've landed. Please put a mattress out for me so I don't make a mess!
* I'm going out with my mom and her doggy tomorrow, which trumps pretty much everything for me. (PUPPYPUPPYPUPPY!) Also I'll have a busy weekend catching up on some work time.

Most games are very clear and straightforward about the tone of the story and the nature of the characters, and so it's extremely easy to tell when people are lying to you and when you're going to be backstabbed. . . .
Deceiving the player, though, is the opposite of that. Setting false first impressions, giving incomplete and misleading information, maybe having people tell absolute lies-- except the player doesn't know that that's happening, no, they just believe everything is A-OK, the stuff that the game dev leads them to do is the right thing! Right?
