Hi I do art mostly but also do games.
Please read my comic, Patchwork and Lace. It's about a Lovecraftian Disney Princess dark mage and her superpowered undead partner hunting monsters and being bad at communication.

Also lack of inspiration. Sometimes I feel like working on a specific project but no or few ideas come to mind. I learned not to try to force it and get to work only when I have a surge of inspiration.
Yeah, I get really long, fallow periods where a project lives on the backburner until I can come up with something good for it.
Fortunately with most of the things I do, I can usually work on some other aspect of the project until inspiration comes. That, or go stuff my brain full of vidya/movies/comics until it splodes with "HEY THIS WOULD BE REALLY COOL LET'S USE THAT IDEA SOMEWHERE!"

That's just different-colored tiles. Possibly I should alter the coloration or something.
Nobody had mentioned any problems with the stairwell, so I'd assumed there were no problems. Possibly I should add a bannister or something?
I'm not really sure why you find it confusing. (Other than the lack of "ceiling," which I intend to work on next; I'm a little nervous, since it'll be my first time monkeying with autotiling!)
I don't intend to add much more deco until after I've put in some NPC sprites, to make sure the place isn't totally cluttered!

Yeah, the motivational poster stuff actually works. I wrote motivational stuff on my mirror and shower walls and holy crap was it helpful!
And yeah, you should absolutely go forth with your potential incompetence, so that more competent people can help teach you how to get better. Otherwise, you absolutely will stay terrible.
Everyone, go forth and make crappy things, that you may learn to make better things!

Criticism isn't always pleasant, but you shouldn't let a fear of it stop you from doing creative work! It's one of the most important parts of improving yourself- much like sparring in a martial art.
If you're very afraid of getting criticised, you should work on separating yourself from the things you're making. (That, and work on being polite to everyone; the harshest criticism I've seen is almost always a result of an artist being rude to critics. Criticism is usually the result of someone believing in your ability to improve yourself and should be responded to as such. :D )

It wasn't a reference, no.
(For those who don't know, bromides- referring to photographic bromide paper- are actually a big Thing in Japan and show up in a lot of games. Primarily dating sims.)

Hope the screenshot thing is OK; I didn't work on anything but the pics themselves, I just wanted to show 'em off in their intended environment. I'm really pleased with how they turned out!

Time, for me. Though one could argue money, since the main time sink for me right now is doing work to pay the bills. If someone were paying me to do games, I'd have less of an issue. ;)

Working on some concept ideas for a new game. Which outline looks better?
Both look fine to me. The dark outline "pops" more, though that may or may not be what you want.

Sooz: Is it better now? ^^
Rather, though as Avee said, the pattern's high contrast still makes it hard to make out the letters.
Avee, those sillos are so nice-looking! It makes for a great mood.
