Hey man. I made my first game with RPG Maker 2003, so here's some jist about it. It has tilesets, characters, and over 100 monsters preprogrammed for you at the start, which is nice. You use the Database to store all your information, and put events on maps to execute the various info. "Events" are stuff like set moving, showing animations, messages, obtaining items & new party members, etc. It's the only one I've used, so I know it pretty well ;). Just ask if you have any Q's about it.
