I would, but it would probably have to work like the green light system steam uses to dissuade the flood of people trying to sell crappy games. Otherwise it wouldn't really matter if you could sell your game when people see a sea of crap surrounding it.

And I'm a turtle fan.

What's a good length for a demo?

Depends on what you need to get from your audience. Do you want people to pay attention to your game and comment on it? If so, you might want to have a full demo that showcases your game properly or a finished product, about 30 minutes to an hour is usually good.

However, if what you need to is to find out whether or not your game works outside of a testing environment (Features you are using that are in no other games or you have no access to data to properly fine tune them.) Then a short demo might suffice, of course it will still be the first impression most people will get and you could risk putting them off. I personally think the risk is worth it if you're trying new things.

Most of the time a demo is not necessary, a few images or a video could provide an equally good buzz for your project to prime it so when it's done people will already be looking forward to playing it.

What is IMVU? I see it way too often in banner ads.

I think it's some sort of 3D chat website, where people can create 3D avatars and items like in second life.

I could be wrong though.

Stat Distribution

It's never a bother. It's actually very nice to see people posting on my work and requesting features and fixes.

As for changing the font size on the stat window, this should do it.

Contemplating whether I should post a request thread for someone to do battle backgrounds for me, with hefty demands and unrealistic expectations, or do it all myself and risk everything looking shitty.


You won't really lose much by trying, but you can gain a lot if you do and it succeeds. Just be polite and clear with your request and if no one fills it then you can try it by yourself.

And remember that sometimes what you think is a demanding request could turn out to be simple to the person who decides to help you out.
