TESTAMENT'S PROFILE

Hi!
I'm an Italian Rpgmaker2003 user (since 2002).
I like to draw (testament77.deviantart.com), I like to collect console's videogames, I watch anime, expecially super robot ones, and I like rpgmaker.

I'm here to share my projects and to see yours.

Keep up the good work, everyone!

@Link_2112: musics aren't original, I'm not able to make music. (except 2 made by a friend of mine).
The graphics side is a complicate one.
I've done some sprite from zero, but 95% of the graphic is rip + edit. HEAVY edit. I repixellated many parts, corrected perspective errors made in the original games, get rid of dithering where it doesn't fit, adjust hue-saturation-luminosity to make the resource accostable, cut and paste from different games to make one. + custom modification from scratch.
Many animations are custom-made editing the sprite in a bajillion of poses. For some characters I used Nono as a base, etc.
Panoramas are made from several games, house from here, terrain frome there, a tree, a bush, a wall, a fench, a sky XD.
Especially the 3th board (the cave) cost me infinite time to gather stone resources from every game I know with a cave.
The 2nd board were easier, it's basically the forest from metal slug series with addons and palette changed.

So the "custom" graphics comes in little numbers, but the un-custom costs me a lot of work.
You can find some examples in the pdf included (watch the pictures).
There are otherwise resource that I left almost untouched. Monsters for example, except for some quick recolor, comes from NAMCO X CAPCOM (PS2).

@Rebezion: well... this will take a lot of time. In the meanwhile I'll try to write down an "instruction booklet" here to help to understand the basics.

^^
I'll make a PC cover for when I'll complete the game. I want a physical copy of my game.

a DS version will remain a dream.

Understood, thanks Irili :3

30 pictures a day IS an optimistic scenario.

I've done even 76 baloon in a day, but EVERY day is suicidal XD

A fellow italian! I'll wait for your comments.

Eh, I've copyed the "text" pictures in a TO-TRANSLATE folder... 2790 pictures. By the end of the game they'll be 3000+ for sure.

30 pictures/day and I'll do this in 100 days XD (;_;)

The actual problem in a translation is the different lenght of sentences when you have limited space. A concept that needs 1 word of 7 characters in italian, may need a whole sentence that doesn't fit in a row of a baloon. But I'm confident in the contrary, some sentences in italian can be done in a bunch of characters.

Then there are the adaptment problems, like wordgames and parody of foreign languages.

How do you mimic a german speech in english? In italian I can add K, -en at the end of the words, etc.

King Vegas, for example, speak half italian half english... "Cosa abbiamo here? A young signorina! welcome!"
And he's not the only one, Stan speach... strange. Gloria like a nazi...

Anyway I'll try both the solutions and I'll choose one. For the baloon-translate version I've decided that the font will be changed in another pixel font less undomable than the rpgmaker standard one and maybe a little less width.

I re-do the question about MEDIA/IMAGES here, cause I've got no response so far:

I have a question, maybe a silly one.

I want to upload illustrations and wallpaper I made related to my project.
In the gameprofile there are IMAGE and MEDIA sections.
In Media one can upload by SUBMIT MEDIA youtube videos, mp3s and images.

I think Images is designed to collect actual screenshot of the game, but I've seen many other gameprofiles with fanart, picture, illustrations, etc in the Images sections.
It's a good section because one can see a thumbnail of the picture and not a single text title as in the media section.

So... where exactly goes illustrations? In media they also need approval and some of my art are sexy oriented (not porn or hentai).
Thanks for answer.

scenes. In this screen you can only choose who to talk to.
In the main game your movements are determined by the dice launch.

well, thanks XD
I hope so, too

[Poll] I can't believe it :/

I'm speechless... but it's all a matter of offer and demand I think.

With Ace + RTP, in this case, and a license, everyone can sell his/her games.
If he sell it and the people pay for it... it's their money after all.

Maybe it is a matter of "ignorance" about the existence af a tool like RM ace, maybe the buyers think he does everything in C++ (cause he claims to know ho to program in various languages).

For CD version of the game, the price seems reasonable.

I for one DO WANT a physical copy of my game complete with cover and booklet. I want only physical copy of what I collect and play, indie or not.

We'll see if he can do all he claims with 5000 $

(anyway, I'll never pay for a RTP game)

hi, Impaled :3

Thanks!
It is a long work of ripping, custom graphic and editing to make so different game combine without clash.
The street and squares are chipset.
Characters and huds are pictures.
background is a panorama.

This is a game made by pictures. thousands (literally) of them.

I need an outside opinion

1. I personally like a solid background story, but it depend on the game. Talking about RPGs... well, the story is the reason I play them.

2. It can be interesting

3. Yes

4. Both are good choices, but the fantasy genre is somewhat overused.
