Not all criticism is "talking shit." Negative feedback can be constructive. Just be careful how you decide to respond to it in public or you will earn a bad name for yourself and nobody will want to give you bad OR good feedback.

It's always good to see a developer who actually wants to make money responding to even the gentlest of criticism by flipping out. You guys will have an excellent rapport with your reviewers and player comments I am sure
Editing default scripts - Ethical?
The whole controversy about MAYBE CRASH YOUR GAME???? IS IT MODULAR THO???? is pointless navel gazing and I'll tell you why. There's a built in script editor - an editor! For editing! - in which you can open the default scripts. And edit them. You should do that if you want because you are SPECIFICALLY enabled to. Here's the real clincher - a bunch of the "default code" (like how windows draw their Cursor box) is NOT in the editor and is specifically hidden from you. If there's something default it would be a bad idea to edit, they made sure you'll have a very hard time finding it. Go crazy.
Edit to be clear: I do what LockeZ does and tag my edits to the originals. Other than "confusing maaaaaaybe?" there's no good argument against it here. Even if you work exclusively in aliases or overwrites, you still have to tag and notate extensively to keep track of what it's doing.

also oops: because I coded events w/ Erase Event loading your game will break your game and you will lose your entire 3 minutes of playtime

I got nauseous staring at the computer and hammering on this for long enough to poop out a game you guys please play it. It's called Rufus, Lansbury & Peru and it takes about five minutes to play. Save your game once you've gathered all 9 pieces of evidence and you can try every combination until you discover the TRUE ENDING (which is hinted at by reading objects around the house). Enjoy~
