Master of the Wind Review
Thanks! Glad people are still playing and enjoying the game. Danika's definitely bitchy, no misinterpretation there...although she does truly love the other Hand Lieutenants so hopefully that shows a little bit.
Labyrinthine Dreams Review
Hey, thanks! I find the highly polarized reactions we've gotten to the ending to be pretty fascinating. Some people have taken the totally opposite approach of your review and describe it as a fatal flaw. Glad it was meaningful for you.
With the Kickstarter stuff done successfully, we expect this game to look a lot different in a few months (although the story will be nearly identical) and some of what you've said about a few of the puzzles is already on our radar. I hope to hear from you again then!

Review Scores: An Informal Poll
.5 - So bad it's nearly unplayable.
1 - Terrible
2 - Disappointing
3 - Decent, if not inspiring
4 - Well-made and fun
5 - Fantastic, not necessarily perfect, but close enough that you don't care about the minor faults it may have.

Star Stealing Prince Review
Needless to say, Shroud was not happy when Astra grabbed his bag of gold pieces and tossed them to the bottom of a hill.

Heh, Ronove and I have had this conversation. I think it depends on which items Astra has equipped, some of those have really powerful skills attached. In terms of their innate skills, they're pretty evenly matched. We figure they'd just go on a date instead. In terms of another potential match-up, I'm pretty sure Hiante would know better than even try and take on Stoic during his prime.

Good stuff, but of course you're an old pro at this.
I remember on my first playthrough, I got destroyed numerous times by the same two bosses you mention. However, on the playthrough I'm doing now, I've been doing much better all around on all the bosses so far and actually have yet to lose a single battle. A steep learning curve, I don't think anyone would dispute that. Haven't gotten to those two yet in my new playthrough, we'll see how it goes.

a) Most people are only commenting on this review because it disagrees with their own opinion. If this was a badly-written review that gave a positive score then I guarantee it wouldn't have 4 pages worth of comments. It irks me that badly-written reviews only get flak when they go against the grain. Most of the reviews on this site wouldn't even get accepted if I was in charge.
I can venture a guess as to why that is - the star rating. That's what a lot of people react to more than even the content. A well-written bad review that brought a popular game's average score down with a low star rating would also be getting a lot of backlash, although the flaws in the writing might not be as obvious. The way the review scores average into an overall rating for the game creates a sense that a bad review has consequences beyond disagreeing with people who liked it. In this case, it only bumped the game's star rating down to 4 but you'd expect a game that was so well-received by most of the community would have a higher rating.
I personally don't think reviews should have numbers, letter grades or stars attached, and I don't use anything like that in the reviews I write for RMW. More often than not, it takes all the attention away from what the reviewer worked harder on - the content. However, in this case, the content was so lacking that it drew a fair amount of attention too.
Also, I apparently spoke too soon about people reviewing toasters. Check out this takedown! http://www.amazon.com/review/R156RCJ6O7I404/ref=cm_cr_pr_viewpnt#R156RCJ6O7I404

Perhaps I edited it out because I decided that it didn't accurately reflect my opinion. That's usually the reason people edit stuff out. You probably think that I edited it out because I'm scared of offending people, but if you think that I'm scared of offending people then you really need to lurk moar.
Actually, I thought you removed it because you lashed out at me without actually reading the content of my stuff and only realized it later. If I'm not mistaken, I believe that's the same approach you took to reviewing MotW. Did you ever warm up to that "battle music" that doesn't exist? Come to the think of it, a poorly-written review getting called out for its shortcomings must seem familiar. It's all right though, I forgive you, Dr. Puking up Frothing Vitriolic Sarcastic Spittle.
If I unwittingly twisted your comment, it's probably cause I don't know what exactly your point is. You're pointing to a lot of the same issues as most of the commenters, including the same basic point I made, and yet you don't like that other people are doing it? Even the example you quoted wasn't saying that reviews with a dissenting opinion was inherently illegitimate, it was only saying that someone taking a position like that has more of an uphill climb to convince everyone else and it's obvious this review isn't going to manage that.
But this is now a discussion about toasters so conduct yourself appropriately.

Ah good point. If I don't debuff its attack, it will one-hit KO my toast with its Burn spell. Just make sure not to hit it with Confusion or else raw bread dough pops up instead! You also have to make sure you're not hit with the "Gluten Allergy" status when you eat the bread...unless you remembered to buy the gluten-free bread at the magic shop.

That toaster thing's a rhetorical disaster. I can only speak from my personal experience, but there's not much in the way of varying strategy when it comes to using them. You take it out of the box, plug it in, but bread in it and pull the lever down. You don't need to cast Sleep or Blind on it first.
And has anyone actually read reviews of toasters online? I can't say I have. I'm just like "Does it toast bread? All right then."
