Star Stealing Prince Review

That toaster thing's a rhetorical disaster. I can only speak from my personal experience, but there's not much in the way of varying strategy when it comes to using them. You take it out of the box, plug it in, but bread in it and pull the lever down. You don't need to cast Sleep or Blind on it first.

And has anyone actually read reviews of toasters online? I can't say I have. I'm just like "Does it toast bread? All right then."

Ignore the morons this website attracts, especially Volrath. They legitimately don't know what the fuck they're talking about.

Hey, come on now. I'm the worst but you pick someone else's quote as the worst response? That doesn't make much sense.

I thought I was actually pretty chill. He suggested that nobody could beat this game without a walkthrough and I thought that was an unfounded assumption. Should we just not have a comments section for reviews? If everyone liked the same reviews the world would be boring as fuck.

I still don't care for the review, but the writer did his best to explain himself so that's all you can ask. You're probably angrier about the disagreement than he is.

I know you're still mad that the amount of Misaos won by Master of the Wind is higher than your IQ, but just let it go already.

I still don't really see a reference to the status effects in that section but if you say they were on your mind, fair enough.

Returning to the game, I suppose you could say lots of people probably played this game with the walkthroughs and had no problem at all with it, but like I said... you shouldn't have to essentially cheat in order to get through it.

This is a pretty broad assumption and I think it underscores my issue with the review in general. In my case, the first time I played it was before a strategy guide was even available. I lost a lot of boss fights, but experimenting with strategy always got me through in the end. I never had to actually grind, just change up which skills I was using. Unless you've done a broad survey of the thousands of people who have played this, I don't think you can defend a statement like that.

If the game was hard enough to ruin your experience, that's that. But it's a step too far to presume as a fact that the game is unplayable when many others have beaten it. I could never figure out how to see those Magic Eye illusions, but I didn't think they were broken, I just couldn't do it.

Star Stealing Prince Review

Your long re-enactment of the battles lacks a pretty crucial element. Status effects. Use them. It's not an "insane/ridiculous amount of effort," it's clicking the arrow keys and the enter key a couple of times.

The game's tough, but enough people have beaten it that it's hard to take something like this seriously.

Master of the Wind

Ah cool, I didn't think we'd get a Let's Play in that style since the game came out before those were a big deal. You've signed yourself up for quite a commitment here! I'm looking forward to watching it.

The Labyrinthine Dreams Kickstarter is on!

e: that said, six thousand seems kind of sparse for a game's worth of graphics.

I'm glad you said that, cause I've heard people tell me the $6k is way too much and that we should be able to do everything for under a thousand. I sometimes worry too that it might not be enough but we were really trying not to come off as unrealistic in our request. I'm sure you've seen some RM kickstarters where the developer is asking for like $25k just to prove that "story and gameplay are more important than graphics." The small scope of the game probably works in our favor for this. If we tried this with Master of the Wind, I can't even imagine the cost.

Stretch goals are a conversation we're having now, but honestly I'm pretty nervous just about meeting our regular goal. This is some nerve-wracking stuff!

You Can't Do That In Zelda! Review

@Isrieri: I thought the overworld was pretty good, could have been bigger, but I still enjoyed wandering around. I think I referenced the really frustrating puzzles in the review. Level 7 wasn't so bad, it was challenging but there were only one or two rooms that stumped me.

You Can't Do That In Zelda!

Alright, hopefully this will be the last time I have to ask for help, but I am planning on reviewing this for Media Madness Month and I'd like to finish.

I'm in the last dungeon in one of the "horns" on the map. There are two blocks in here that I can move pretty much anywhere, but I have absolutely no clue as to how to arrange them to trigger whatever secret is in here. A little help perhaps?

You Can't Do That In Zelda!

Ah okay, thanks. I wouldn't call that a "dick move" but it's definitely not the first thing that comes to mind. Your idea was compromised by my memory of the original Zelda and the association I have between narrow impassible spaces and the stepladder. I think it might help to have some old man in an adjacent room say "You do not need the ladder to cross the pit" or something like that.
