I'm a journalist/author with a fondness of RPG Making and an aversion to leaving projects unfinished - great for satisfaction, not so much for quantity. I'm married and live in Cromwell, CT with my wife, twin sons, and the dog.

I'm a little torn on Chasing Amy. On the one hand, I find it to be a pretty astute portrait of male insecurity and the double standards that come into play when people learn about the sexual history of their partners. On the other hand, it is almost 20 years old and the cultural conversation about these issues has changed a lot since then. I can't imagine its treatment of LGBT issues holds up very well.
If you want an even more drastic reminder of how much things have changed...Ace Ventura. Holy hell, I caught the ending of that on a hotel room TV recently and wow. The way they treat the transgender villain is unbelievably sick and it's amazing (not in the good way) that it went over with so little controversy back in the 90s. Anyone looking for a good example of what NOT to do when it comes to representation...check that out.
I just want to make one last point and then I'll go back to lurking - respect for other people isn't predicated on totally understanding their experiences or feelings. It's hard to truly understand someone else's feelings unless you've had very similar experiences. But you don't have to become an expert on the life of someone in a different demographic than you in order to show respect. People will tell you what hurts their feelings and in the end you decide whether to listen. Rather than demanding they prove in some objective way why certain things are hurtful, maybe take the time to consider whether or not the satisfaction of saying something naughty is worth the hurt feelings it might cause. And if you really need to get some of this out of your system and prove you weren't silenced, maybe say it to the bathroom mirror in the privacy of your own home.

Bro Quest
Don't worry bruh, I'll help you out! Skizz and the other lizards are water-element so they actually take more damage from Duane's lightning move than his spear move. Also, the Flash Flood attack is always on the fifth turn so if you defend right before you should survive the hit. He defends on the sixth turn, giving you some time to recover.
Yeah, there's a pretty strong strain of anti-intellectualism in America and you can see that in a lot of movies where the writers make excuses for guys being rude and ignorant just because it's "authentic" or some shit. You can even see that in something like Cars 2, where Lightning McQueen scolds Mater for acting like a jackass in public and the emotional arc of the rest of the movie is all about Mater's hurt fee-fees and that McQueen was actually a jerk for calling him out. Much eye-rolling ensued.

I'm glad it's easy to recognize that CJ is unlikable and the narrative does -not- support his thoughts.

Dude, thanks for not bothering. I've been sitting here for the last hour and a half - spending time I could have spent on my game - refreshing the Submissions queue just waiting for your fix to your damn game page. Time waste much? Yeah. :|
I was getting my two-year old sons ready for bed. Don't let my wife hear you call that "wasting time." In general, you probably shouldn't make judgments about how other people use their time until you've walked a mile in their shoes. Even a 5-10 minute task can be hard to pull off if there are a lot of distractions. It sounds like you're a parent too, I expect you understand how it compromises projects like this.
Anyway, I might have had a little outburst there but I'm over it. I'm pretty pleased to have been able to finish the game given my hectic daily life, especially with the added RTP-hiccups. I guess something had to give, though. As it got closer to evening here in New England, I knew my free time was slipping away and I wasn't sure how long it would take for the submission to go through, so I thought I could get away with fudging the game page if I posted here first detailing my intentions. Should have started working on the page concurrently with the rest of the project a few days ago, maybe. Oh well. Now that the rush is over, I think I'll get a little bit of art to go with this before I try and put it up again.
The Golden Age of Game Making
Welp, my submission got denied since I didn't make enough of an effort with the gamepage. For Christ's sake, I can pretty it up later, I just wanted it to have it available in time for the deadline but I guess that's not gonna happen. Thanks for the support!

The Golden Age of Game Making
Awesome, that worked! Thanks! Just hope I can get everything submitted in time...
Edit: The game's submitted. Mods, please forgive the current condition of the page. I promise I'll make it look decent when I'm not in such a rush.

I'm having problems similar to what others have mentioned. Can't get the Rm2k installer to work, it says it has been created but then I can't find anything. Tried to gather up all the RTP stuff I used and put it in a zip file to test on a computer without 2k installed, still wants RTP installed. The "FullPackageFlag=0" thing didn't make a difference either.
I have no clue what to do about this. Should I even bother entering?

The Golden Age of Game Making
Hmm, I should be able to finish this and get it submitted to the site by today, but I think that early morning deadline for the final submission to this contest is going to screw me. Oh well, it's been fun either way.
X-Noir
The ending goes on a little bit longer after that bug, you miss out on some dialogue. Hopefully we can get that fixed at some point. Glad you liked the game! As it stands now, the ending kind of weirdly ambiguous...who do you think came to visit?
MotW: In-Depth Playthrough
-Rana's forehead mark didn't become part of her design until long after that scene was finished. You would think that Stoic would have a sense that she was involved with dark magic, but dark magic has several disciplines within it so he might not have guessed she was an apprentice necromancer.
-Auburn had a comprehensive musical education when she was younger. This isn't said in the game, but I imagined she had played guitar in the past, just not bass. Although if we want to be really nitpicky, the song that figures into the music-lock puzzle is just straight up electric guitar, no bass...even though she's supposed to be playing a bass guitar.
-I remember one review we got said that "When he's Cade, he's a total G. When he's Shroud, he's a whiny little prick." I wouldn't put it quite like that but basically, Cade is the mask. He's trying harder to fit in. But as Shroud, he can let fly with his anger/resentment.
-As AB said, without the golem thing, the mansion sequence gets stranger the more you think about it. My recollection was that we didn't want to assign Enkur more battles for an arc that was already very heavy on them.
