Hi! Thank you for peeping at my profile.
I like making modern-themed games. My first game, Onyx, was made in 2006, when I was a senior in high school. So it's pretty ROUGH, but people seem to like it? Total Chaos is my personal favorite, but it has some, erm, issues, too. Mystery Man Zero is coming you guys, I haven't forgotten about it. A full-game will come out even if it takes 10 years. Oh gosh, I hope it doesn't take that long, but you get what I'm saying, right?
Right now, I am also working on A Nightmare in Sunnydale, a horror genre mesh-up fangame, if you will. I also like playing games. Actually, playing RPGM games is legit one of my favorite pastimes. *insert smiley here*
When I can fit it in, I do a little bit of Gatekeeper as well, a sci-fi fantasy about a team of god-lite forces, Gatekeepers, who have to protect the dying Earth from forces they don't even know about.

Who said Gau sucks? :( I thought he was fairly commonly considered an upper-tier party member... because some of those Rages are insane.
I guess it depends on where you go/who you talk to. I have seen people put him at the bottom, and I was like, "O REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEALLY?"
My main team was Terra, Edgar, Cyan and Gau. I think I've used everyone at least once aside from Strago, and maybe Locke.

Gau, Umaro, Mog, Relm
I'd have Gau put his Rage skill to good use. Umaro just does his usual thing. Mog uses Dance to dish out the hurt. For Relm, I have her cast Berserk on herself 1st turn, and then let her lay into the enemy party. This method always wins me the game. Always.
Edit: Sometimes, I swap out Relm with Gogo for double Dance power.
Gau is so underrated. People say he sucks, but he was dishing out 7000+ damage consistently long before anyone else in my party.

Hello all,
I am working on a mini project. The game is called "Gatekeeper" and all I really need is an eerie-looking door at the end of a dark hall. The door is partially opened, with alluring yet strange and scary blue light coming out of it. The title, "GATEKEEPER" (all caps) can be written up at the top in a gothic font (though I can do this myself, if that is a problem), and the rest of the background is pitch black. That's all, really.
I guess the closest thing to what I'm talking about would be sort of something like this...

Emo Require: Do RPGs need a story?
I think it depends on what type of RPG you're trying to make. I don't think every RPG needs a be a grand epic tale. As long as the story that it does have is entertaining enough, interesting and fairly original, I'm satisfied.
But I mainly play RPGs for the characters, anyway. The story itself could be complete poo but I'd still love the game if the characters are unique and entertaining.
