Square-Enix Decides To Give All Of Its Fans The Middle Finger By Re-Releasing The PC Port Of FF7 For The PS4
I don't know. As much as I like to hate on Square for pulling moves like this thread's topic, stagnating the development of the series with spin-offs and sequels that nobody asked for, and failing to capture the charm of old games with their new IPs... I'm really diggin' the feel of FFXV. Am I alone on this? I mean, sure I don't have big expectations about it, and I don't like everything I see, like that ever so archetypically anime male cast. But somehow, stuff like this makes me want to have hope for the future.
ALERT: Player Choice Ahead!
Ideally speaking, I think it would be better if you make it so no option can be chosen at first, no matter how much you press that 'Accept' button. First you'd have to use the directional keys so the cursor actually appear above the options, and then and only then you could make your choice. I think this a more elegant and yet intuitive solution to those button-mashing accidents, but it may require some scripting so it may not be really worth it. For all intents and purposes your idea works just as well.
What’s Your RMN New Year’s Resolutions For 2015
Well, I have tons of ideas for games that I'd like to say I'll finally come around and make. But let's be realistic here. Considering I haven't finished anything in like, ever, the likelihood of me releasing a number of games higher than "1" in 2015 are slim... I'll probably get "Greetings from RMtopia" back up once I'm done expanding on it, but I guess that's going to be all.
A more affordable goal would perhaps be to learn to be a bit more diligent. So far game-making has been strictly a hobby, and as such it had to co-exist with all my other hobbies, and sometimes I'd even forget all about it for moths at a time. But from now on I'll try dedicate more time to it. I don't know, I may even try that HabitRPG thingy that a friend recommended to me.
Maybe by 20XX I can have a game featured or start a commercial project, but I guess I'm getting a bit too ahead of myself. >_>;

[Poll] Dealing With The Lure Of The New
Well, I'm definitively a "Doomed Omnitasker". While in theory I'm a "Main squeeze-r", as I only have one project that I try to actively work on. I also have so many ideas that I'd like to see translated into games that just thinking about them is enough to distract me and zap away all my 'creative' energy for long periods of time. Hence why I haven't finished anything in years. -_-
One way I try to mitigate this is by merging ideas that are similar in structure/gameplay. For example, one idea I had was about two siblings escaping the invasion of Poland at the beginning of WW2, with some magical elements thrown in. And another one was about a married couple defending their home planet with the help of some technological McGuffin. So which one is better? To explore a fraternal relationship or a romantic one? A historical setting or a fictional one? Magic or Technology? ...It's not an easy answer really, because I've grown fond of both stories. But I hope for my sanity that I can find a compromise someday.
Something else I've found works is to just get those stories out of my system by putting them into game format in the most mediocre, or bare-bones way possible. xD I've benefited from this when joining community projects or contests, and forcing myself to work under their limitations, as opposed to working at my own leisure and aiming high. And even if by the end I'm still not satisfied with the result, I can always build upon it until I reach a point in which I can just "let go", and focus on other projects.
Edit: Maybe you're onto something there... xD

I see that you're taking some sort of 'minimalist' approach with this game. I don't know if this is because you're learning to create your own graphics or if you're after a feeling of "emptiness" or what, but quite frankly, this looks boring to me... So, if it is not against your artistic vision, I suggest you to play around with color a bit. I don't know, I just feel that you could make a simple game like this be more visually appealing if, for example, every level had an unique color scheme, instead of all of them looking the same.

What are you thinking about right now?
For what is worth, is real easy to find posts these days thanks to the new search feature found in personal profiles, as opposed to using the general site search in the top bar. But yeah, I also don't get why we need new threads when the old ones work just as well... But hey, Liberty's the boss now! (And for one, I'm a bit curious about what those plans might be.)
Edit: I'm disappoint. =/

B-but the "What are you thinking about?" thread is well past the 500 pages! ...Gosh! You almost gave me a heart attack there. -_-
RMN v4.5 (and beyond) Feature Idea List
I really like that idea, specially if it were to replace statuses altogether (because seriously, some statuses are really asinine. Who cares if you stubbed your toe or w/e?!!). I've seen it applied in other forums and I think it satisfies people's social media "needs" well enough.
When life gives you lemons...(Part 1)
Those portraits look amazing! Specially the girl's. The guy's looks good too, but I think the colors were better in the old version. See how his hair and jacket were of two different shades of blue? That's lost on the new version and is less "visually interesting" if you ask me...
