Forever's End
I say finish it first, then revise it. If you keep stopping to fix and develop areas you'll never get it done.... and I've been waiting a long time for this to be done.
Plagued
Noted. Reminds me a bit of Space Funeral, and that was one of my all time faves, so good luck with this. The style appears quite disturbing.
Series Master! Part 9 – Eden Legacy with Sbester
Nice article. Unfortunatley, I'm only about 1/2 done with the novel. I haven't touched it in a year, since I've had so many setbacks, and I wanted to focus on my game.
Now I must hide my head in shame.
Seriously, though, I haven't given up on the novelization, and now that my own game is all but done, it might be time to pull that up and start writing again.

Can I use RM2K sprites in VXA?
Other than resize, you'll probably have fun trying to convert the auto-tiles. Anything is possible, though, if you have the means and the know-how.
Hidden Items?
In later DQ games, the hidden loot was usually through a clue of the landscape. A clump of grass out of place, an oddly placed bush or flower, cracked earth in the middle of a nice looking lawn... when done with the intent of leaving a hint, searching for buried loot can work.
Help with Passage/Priority
Connecticut Shooting
Strict gun laws would not have prevented this from happening, since he got ahold of a gun illegally. I'm not sure what the solution here should be. Bullet proofing windows and doors may help; secruity and metal detectors at every school may help. But the problem isn't the guns so much as the type of people who could stoop so low as to shoot up a bunch of elementary kids.
Maybe if there was swift justice instead of years of appeals, then maybe the money saved could be spent more on education and housing the mentally insane.

Mystery Man Zero
I didn't mean my initial comment to be an insult, just that I think it takes a bit more appreciation, and the constant shift of facesets each character has sort of hurts the experience for me. This one has a sort of superhero comic style, though, so it's quite enjoyable.
Edit: For some reason I thought one other game did as well (the weird face thing), but maybe not. In any case, my compliments to you on this game so far.

One Night
Ah, I've yet to play Legionwood which is still on my "to do", perhaps after I finish SMB: The Seven Sages. Don't be too embarrassed, though, over all it was a fun enjoyable game with an interesting story.
Maybe you'll develop a novel around the idea one day. :)

VX Ace map limit
It is the same 999 limit. From what I heard, it's not at all easy to break this based upon the way the program reads and processes, and I don't know of any scripts that have been made to get around this.
But you can always combine maps. Say you have a village with 5 interior homes. Rather than make 5 separate maps for each interior, you could make one large map and draw all 5 of your interior maps within.
The same can be done with dungeons with separate rooms. You can design all of your rooms to a dungeon on one map, if needs be, rather than have a separate map ID for each dungeon room.
