Mythica Stories ver.0.1 Review
I probably will, but wanted to play into the game a little further. I just got curious during the play to what others had to say.
Mythica Stories ver.0.1 Review
Well, I'm playing it now and I definitely agree with it being a bit repetitive. It sort of reminds me of a puzzle platform adventure rpg hybrid, so it's definitely piqued my interest. But some elements of the gameplay seems a bit awkward.
For example, you don't get any gold in the first two stories, so by the time you manage to get to the town, you are poor. The easy mission left me for dead, because I couldn't afford enough to hire somebody. Guess I'll either have to continually fight in the arena (kind of boring), or tackle this mission solo but run from everything.
Also, the arena itself would not be so boring if we could leave it before the time goes up. You can't access the menu, so something as simple as pressing the ESCAPE key could have brought up a yes/no to leaving the arena, even before the time was up. Otherwise, your just standing there wittling away at the time because your too low on health to fight.
However, there is definitely a lot to keep me entertained and I'm willing to invest some more time into it. I pretty much agree with the above review, but I think for the sake of being inventive by incorporating some unique ideas, I'd bump it up to somewhere between 2 1/2 and 3 stars.

Merula
Nightmarish, surreal, the atmosphere would make for an excellent horror, but in its current form I had no idea what the game was about, what exactly it was I needed to do and why, or where to even go.
DungeonQuest
Depends on what you're going for. A bit of customization definitely goes a long way, but I prefer more jrpg games and dungeon crawlers over open-ended, although I have played a few open-ended that I enjoyed. But I have to admit the idea you have sounds intriguing and reminds me a little of Final Fantasy 2 (the NES game) where you had to use certain key words and passwords to get NPC's to reveal info.
DungeonQuest
Yeah, I'm smacking myself in the head for not shortening the name. I've been going by Amerk recently. Does anybody know of a way to edit the profile?

Cell Chamber Review
I have to admit, the turning point where you ended up in the village did it in for me. However, before that, I was starting to dig the game. I was expecting a survival horror, but was surprised when I found out it would have turn based elements, although that didn' pan out very well. It sort of reminded me of Keldoulka (not sure if I spelled that correctly) on the original Playstation.
That dang puzzle box, stumped for awhile until I started putting it all together.
Maybe one day you could revisit the survival horror rpg idea, but keep the game more focused.

Breath of Fire II: The Fated Child (XP)

I seriously can't wait for this to be completed! Breath of Fire 2 was among the first 10 rpgs I played:
1. FF1
2. Dragon Warrior
3. Wizardry
4. Destiny of an Emperor
5. Phantasy Star 2
6. FF2 (IV)
7. Breath of Fire 2
8. Lufia
9. Secret of Mana
10. FF3 (VI)
I've already played the BoF2 about 5 times and I'm curious to see how this project expands on it.
No, Chrono Trigger??? But otherwise, I have to agree with your list. The glory days of NES/SNES, and maybe the original PS included.

Something I should have mentioned before:
If you liked the first version of this game, chances are you will like this one even more. If you didn't, ask yourself why. If it was do to graphics, mapping, or gameplay, not much has changed in that department to make you fall in love with this version. However, if it was do to exploration and story, sbester has made a lot of tweaks by adding in additional dungeons, a sort of battle tutorial, moving the enemy camps around, and better story elements at key points to make this worth the trouble.
