Valedictory Game Drive Edition

Holy crap! This is awesome! And now I can have both games in one file. By the way, if you choose to take your party from the first directly into TNG, are you just talking about the actual party but starting over with levels, items, etc., or also bring your old stats/equipment over.

If the latter, does that make the game easier or are the enemies geared to be harder.

Zombies Ate My Neighbors : Exclamation Point

I've never played the original ZAMN game, so I often wondered what this was like. Short to say, this was a pretty fun, albeit short, demo. It took me abit to work with the controls to figure out what buttons to press, so maybe some text could be included for that.

Otherwise, I'll look forward to a more complete game.

Demo released!

The fight with Lavos' core in the beginning is a little too long. I know it's representing a dream of the previous encounter, or something of the sort, and the characters are highly leveled, but to start off with such a long fight is a bit tedious. Since you only need to finish off the right bit (the core), I'd suggest lowering it from 17000 HP to 10000 HP.

Final bosses are perfectly fine for high HP, so the only reason I suggest this is because it is the first fight in the game, which is not even a true fight since it's all part of a dream/prologue/prequel.

Chrono Trigger: Prelude to a Dream

Completed the playthrough of this. I definitely like where this is going. The feel and look is very similar to the actual Chrono Trigger game that it feels more like a sequel than the previous Chrono Alter game.

Alter A.I.L.A. Genesis Review

Whereas I felt game play was lacking, I realize that is entirely my opinion, and other people may not agree with it. Likewise, I felt the story was excellent, but a few others felt it was average, at best. One thing I think that can help the overall gameplay is the ability to swap out weapons, armor, and maybe even party members during battle, although I admit that would take a lot of extra coding. Since the game requires a lot of strategy, this ability would allow people to go in and test what weapons/equipment/people work the best in any situation without having to restart from the last save.

On a side note, going with my earlier comment about a sort of flash/comic style DVD, I really think this game has such potential as to either become an animated series, if not an animated movie. I definitely would shell out some money to buy this as a movie on DVD/Blu Ray.

Edit: On a side note, I did play the original game first, so I might be a bit more biased towards the top/down perspective verses platform style. Although I have played plenty of platform games in my time, all the way back to the days of Atari and NES, including platform rpgs like Zelda II, Battle of Olympus, and Castlevania II. I know it won't happen, but I would definitely love to see this version of the game as a traditional rpg.

Chrono Shift

I played a little into this simply because it is just a demo and I don't have time to invest like I once did. That said, the short bit I played I enjoyed the game for what it was. I can't really see this so much as a fan game to the Chrono series, but there is a charm about it that I like, regardless.

It may have something to do with the faces (from facemaker), or that some people are using Auras verses TP, or a few other odds and ends, but it doesn't feel very Chrono'ish aside from a few names and familiar places. I wonder, is there a connection to Chrono Trigger/Cross with this game? If so, it may help to develop that point sooner so people understand when they start playing? Otherwise, it may be better to view this game as something completely different (change names/places, etc), create your own backstory, and don't use CT/CC as a crutch. I can see why some fans of the actual games may be put off if there is little resembling CT, but as I stated above it could definitely work as your own tale separate from the CT world. The visuals are nice, the gameplay is fun and simple, and the mapping is rather decent.

Good luck, either way!

Alter A.I.L.A. Genesis Review

No problem. By the way, I think this would make a great flash or comic like movie, sort of like they did with Broken Saints some time back. That started out as a sort of online produced series before they made released it on DVD. Just an idea if you're ever looking to expand this beyond a gamer's world.

Chrono Alter Review

I've actually always referred to the timed bar as ABS, but I see your point.

Also, maybe I should restate the title as "Best Fan Game I've Currently Played". But I definitely enjoyed the game.

RMN Improvements

Since we are talking about improvements, I really think the "New to RMN" topic should have its own category under the Forum link, maybe at the top, as it may be difficult for new people to find. It's helped me quite a bit myself when I first joined RMN and I still reference it from time to time. Just a suggestion.

This idea is being implemented somehow. I just haven't figured out the best way to do it yet.

Also, I need to update the article.

An idea may be to have it stickied in the Help and Requests topic, since the Master Help list is also there. Anyhow, that was just a thought. Overall, these improvements so far have been a nice addition to the site.

Adalyn Review

Good review. I've been playing it as well and had about as much thought. I may go in and remove those events as well to see if that helps the lag.
