RMN Roleplaying Group: SECOND TRY!
I'd be down for this. Max is a good GM but I don't know if he'd be into it : D
I'd definitely be for D&D 3.0, but I could always dig some White Wolf.

From beta-ing ETG, I know that Max's game also takes place in a "mystical" part of the USA, but I don't know if it would be a spoiler to say which state.
Unless you were serious about AZ being mystical, in which case, I'd say, no, it's not really. It's really nice in February and they have great oranges, but "the holy land" it isn't.
Arizona is heavily accompanied by many Indian tribes and cultures. The Indians are very spiritual and that is where you get your magical powers from in Aftermath. The spirits and everything else that is really deep. Also, Northern Arizona is home to the Grand Canyon which is a very mysterious place.
Everything is going to have some Sci-Fi in it when it comes to games.
Are you from the West? Have you ever been to the Grand Canyon?
Since I can answer yes to both of these questions, I personally feel that yes, while Native American shamanism is very spiritual and interesting (and I can see where you are taking some things from Shadowrun as well), the Grand Canyon has been overly capitalized on and I never really found it to be very "spiritual." There are much better places for that kind of thing, like the Black Hills in SD, which are definitely more charged (at least that's what shamans say). Mostly the Grand Canyon is a pretty well-explained geological phenomenon... it just manifests in a big way.
I like it when people think of my neck of the woods as somehow mystical : D. Makes me all proud and stuff.
Colorado here. So yeah, I've been out there myself a few times. I just think the whole spirit/shaman thing could not have been done in a better place than Arizona.
I know Colorado had a lot of tribes too but Denver has been done in a few games and movies so I wanted to do northern Arizona.
Weird, there are a lot of Coloradans here.

What is your mood today?
Frantic.

What do YOU want for Christmas v2.0
I much prefer gifting to receiving. I pride myself on being a fairly excellent gifter. I can generally find people stuff that fits them. This year, though, I'm so spent from school that I haven't had any time to hit the mall for my friends. Also, my parents and I have the nasty tendency to be completely inscrutable and thus very difficult to get presents for.
As a kid, I never really knew what I wanted, or at least, the things that I wanted were not things that anyone could buy for me (like undiscovered ancient magical tomes... yeah, I was a weird kid.) My parents were both well-meaning and willing to give the world to me. They got me game systems, dolls, action figures, and of course (they are engineers) interactive science trivia books and chemistry sets. But really, the things I enjoyed were the ones they made themselves, like my rocking horse (the exception is the dollhouse they built for me which I rarely used... I'm not a dollhouse person). I didn't play with toys though, nor videogames all that much. I preferred the stuff in my own head to things anyone else could manufacture or buy. Hubris at a young age, I know, but I've always had this hang-up about doing things myself.
This year is really the first year I actually want things. Nothing is too extravagant... I always feel weird when people spend a lot on me.

Dude you didn't go to "school"?
You have better luck than me. I'm all certified and shit but I don't have the time to get a job during the semester. : (
'school'? i went to university... actually i had a "real" job for a while, but the company closed down this month so i went back to the part time bartending/serving job i've always had whenever i need a quick buck.
if you mean bartending school- no, i didn't do that... i hear its fun and useful though :) (useful for bartender or partyanimal... lol)
Yeah, I meant "School" = bartending school and School (without quotation marks) as university : ).
Bartending school is pretty sweet, though. I did a cram course, one week. It hurt my brain, but it was a fun experience.
Now, to actually... get a job... that whole university thing is getting in the way, though.
