Have Some Art!

Thanks Kars for your in-depth critique. This is the kind of stuff I like.

I do not like what Dudesoft says which is both vague and unhelpful and implies that I a) draw like someone with no training and b) draw so poorly that he can't even stand to give critique, which is both hurtful and unhelpful.

I am in school and not for art, but for TV writing. I am considering going to grad school for sequential art.

So yeah, thanks for the (real) criticism.

EDIT: Oh, my ribcage proportions may be off because mine are in life, lol. I have a very strange ribcage. I will try to use more sources - does anyone else find Victoria's Secret catalogues helpful?)

Relations with The Gender of Your Preference

can't bring myself to see someone else as anything less than a human being, and it's this awareness of their person that makes this such an awkward subject for me.

Less than a human being? What??? Uh hello, last time I checked, human beings have sex. You know the fact that you exist? That's evidence of that fact. So how does sex require seeing anyone as anything other than a human being?

"whaddaya think, sirs?"

(are you an MST3K fan or something?)

As for the art, I would have guessed the third one was done by a different artist.
They're all good, cept for one of the lady's eyeballs on the second one.

To ask me if I'm an MST fan would be to ask the Pope if he just so happens to believe in Catholicism.

:P Glad someone caught the reference.

And thank you for your feedback, I see what's up with Raechel... ah, well, this was a sketch after all.

Have Some Art!

OKAY.

Here is... I guess... somewhat newer. At least more 'loose' computer lineart. It's Lewis from Disney/Pixar's "Meet the Robinsons" which I loved in spite of myself.

I know his pants are wrong. No one has to tell me that : )

Also, this is something I did in class today. Very sketchy, didn't take more than half an hour. I like it anyway. Tim and Raechel from Backstage II.

Oh yeah, I should have put this one in the last batch, because it's also pretty ancient. However, it's probably my best work to date... though upon further inspection I can see some issues (mostly with her hands). Book illustration.

The truth is, I have too much respect for women to just try and get in their pants.

As I've addressed before, I think you guys have a really strange outlook on women.

Women, or at least 80% of the girls in my acquaintance and myself, do not run and hide at the mention of intercourse. Nor are we blushing feebs who would look at some dude in a club who is grinding on us and say "oh gee, he seems like a really nice guy, I bet he just wants a cup of coffee." Hopefully you'd be trying to get with women your age, and women your age are not naive 13-year-old delicate flowers who need to be misled into having sex.

Golly.

It is not underhanded nor decietful to hit on a woman. It is not morally reprehensible to want to get with a woman. We are not retards, children, or animals. WE KNOW WHAT IS UP.

Of course, it is wrong to sleep with a woman after promising her something (i.e. a long term relationship) and then dumping her. It is also wrong to sleep with a girl who is too drunk to know any better. Also wrong, any form of rape.

Barring lies and rape, though, sex between adults is not immoral. We are not being "used," and I resent the implication that girls are too stupid to understand the difference between sex and love.

Relations with The Gender of Your Preference

I agree with some other posters who have said that you are not "using" someone for sex if they are also "using" you for sex. There are plenty of girls at bars who just want a good ol' fashioned good time. I don't know a lot of girls who expect to meet their future spouse at a bar anyway, though it could definitely happen.

Also, meaningful sex can absolutely be fulfilling, when you do it correctly. But I guess your issue is you've never met anyone who "fulfills" you.

I hope you give people who you feel are "below your standards" a shot one day. Someone might genuinely surprise you.

It seems like I forgot to introduce myself O_o

Yeah.

What else are you into? Where are you from? Can you tell us about yourself as a person?
Wow sooo many people posting!!! >.< Lol anyways I'm from Colorado but my parents are vietnamese so that makes me one too...though I never learned the language X3. And when I feel like talking, I'm usually nice...Unless you say a random bad comment about me that is 200% far away from being true, I can get really nasty...specially if you know me in reality.

CO love (represent). : D As much as I'd love to know where you're going to school, that would definitely fall into the not-ok-to-ask-online category. I've just been going to school in NY for so damn long and I'm terribly homesick.

I hope the weather is nice back there! Post lots!

Plus who picks up girls in the manga section of the library reading overly cute shoujo AKA Cardcaptor Sakura? XD Or the handheld section of the local Gamestop? You guys don't look at girls out of high school buying the newest Pokemon title, do you? Doubtful. I'm not the typical guy's target by any strech of the imagination. I resigned myself to that and stuck to my escape, my gaming. At least I could adventure in gaming, see stories books never write about, and feel free of being that outcast. In an RPG, I'm not me - I'm the hero of that story. *shrug*

I was hit on a bit more in college, though. Mostly by chicks that thought I was a lesbian (that stinging quote "only guys play video games!" which I have hated since I can remember).

I'm sorry about some of the stuff you detailed previous to this - that sounds very sad (inadequate term, I know).

But as for this, I find that there are two camps of the elusive "nerd-girl." The first are those who don't make friends easily, don't flaunt themselves, and are outwardly content with their gaming. Basically, "guy-like" and often "in the friend zone" with other guys (I'm mostly here, except for my serial-monogamy. Also I was mistaken for a full-blown lesbian quite a lot as well!).

Then, there are the girls who are of the opinion that geek boys have some kind of meeting-girls-deficiency and view themselves as precious diamonds, love to flirt, and think they're God's gift to geeks. I find these females highly distasteful because they have such a low opinion of the boys they use to make themselves feel better. And I usually find myself something of a Wendy in the groups of lost boys I befriend, so I'm very protective of my male pals!

But I honestly don't think that you'd find a guy here who wouldn't be refreshed by a girl, one way or the other, who knew her way around an RPG.

Am I the only one who find Nightblade's unflinching hatred of (just about) EVERYTHING to be hilarious?

Maybe I should start a home made game review video series.

You can fight the Angry Video Game Nerd (http://www.youtube.com/user/JamesNintendoNerd) for the top of the charts.

Multiple Languages

English, that blasphemous Frankenstein language, is my first language. I do not envy anyone who has had to learn it as their second for any reason. You fluent non-native English speakers are my heroes.

My German is not so good anymore because I have no chance to practice it (my school does not offer it in the curriculum).

Also, it's been 4 years since I've taken a Latin class and that is slipping.

My French is basically gone.

I can count to ten in several languages, and say yes and no in a few.
