Thanks! It's actually going to be night and raining in the final version of this scene. I was just playing around with the screen tint is all. :p

Well, there's this giant Storm that's a big part of the storyline, and this is what it's supposed to look like.

Thanks a lot! That review you wrote really helped me out. :)

The Royal Tenenblogs

Thanks for taking the time to watch mellytan.

Actually, that's how it was supposed to come off. I've played quite a lot of horrible VX games that were exactly like that, and I thought it'd be interesting to parody that in Linus' fantasy. I'll also like to add that Linus' main ambition is to be a novelist, so these fantasies are actually the stories he plans to write. As the plot progresses, and he becomes older, the imaginary fantasies will become more and more mature and realistic. Those segments of the game will act as optional playable mini-quests, meaning that the player will be able to play through the stories that Linus writes.

And thanks for complimenting Joerao. The man's a genius. :)

Valkyrie Stories - Escallion Rising Review

Completely off-topic, but isn't it called "anime"? I've never heard it called "animu" before. Anyway, great review.

Looks like a metric shit ton of trees there. Probably all character sprites. I hope you're ready for impassibility hell and this game not running smoothly on most computers when you launch a demo. it looks cool but overdone greatly.

Actually, the trees are all tiles, and the passability settings are already set correctly. As for the abundance of trees, that cliff is next to a forest, so thats why there's so many.

I suppose there might be too many, but I really like the thick woods look.

Thanks for the comments guys. As for the lighting, I promise it looks better in motion. You don't really notice it much while you're playing. At least none of my beta-testers do. If it bothers people when I release the next demo, then I'll tone it down.

PAINTINGS~! Hottiebabe Elda and adorable young Kiden. AWESOME!

That's one good-lookin' fella.

Linus: The Forgotten Days

^Thanks for the kind words, as well as all of the insightful comments on the screenshots. :)

Aw. Thanks. That's very sweet of you to say that about Linus. Still, I like how the blowing leaves look. I suppose it doesn't bother me that much because I rarely play VX games as it is, so I don't see the blowing leaves all that often. :)
