Uhhhhh, weird interface, I had trouble starting it. I'd say if there's anything to improve that would be keeping the Okay selector the default. Also, you mixed the jump thing up with something else, V, not B did a jump (though that's more a blog issue than a game one). Some good control features, including 8 directional movement. Okay, now for the main game:

The battle sequence is awkward. Because I usually you Ctrl with my left hand, I get a sort of "three-handed" feeling when playing the battle segments. Even the right handed Ctrl feels disjointed from the other keys. Couldn't you make the last button be N? I couldn't use jump to actually reach the ledges to fight strategically, so I didn't get its purpose.

As for plot, I couldn't make it very far, but it's not looking good. Even if the plot becomes awesome, the functionality issues kinda ruin things (I couldn't load a saved game due to your custom key settings). And at one point, I was in battle, and they said something about a missing map event when I went too far south, resetting my game. Even the uninstaller didn't do its thing the first time.

Sounds like a dating or H-game, lol. What's this about unlocking scenes?

Removed it to make saving universal. Now mister Save Fairy is a battle event (ah right, it needs slip through). Also, there were (and still are) diaries around the world, which you can use to save too. I think they're pretty rare though.

No, what I hate is local events. Battle local events I tolerate, because the 60,000 repeated events each counts for an instance, and overall lends to the impression of a better battle (i.e. adding a Spy or Steal event to every M. Group). But local events, pretty much if I have to change any one thing, I have to hunt down every single instance, even ones hidden in weird spots like when I called it into a cutscene, and then forget I have it. Hmmm, I could go through every single event in the game, looking for a line of code to change, or I could keep my code relatively clean and put in a common event. Not that it helps, even my newest version has cruft (such as the fairy which used to move, until I needed to hit it to make it a battle event, and the save function irritated people, so now it's a nonmoving fairy you can't hit without a boat, there because of a save event that no longer exists). Cruft and repeated code.
