DRAKIYTH'S PROFILE

I am an old school gamer who loves to create bazaar projects and I specialize in themes and game play.

I have also been running the Crappy Game Reviews for over 4 years now. My old channel was hacked by somebody I used to live with and the games were removed. I have a new channel now.

Subscribe if you love watching shitty rpg maker games get reviewed. I have a staff on here but I also review a lot of games myself. I also post videos of the projects I am working on here.

Giving Feedback: Pass or Fail

Creation, you have encouraged me. Check this custom texture out so far. I am probably going to change some of the plants and stuff too. It's a work in progress.

EDIT: UPDATED

Custom_Wall_Texture_1.png

These new textures will be featured in Chapter 1. I am going to try and do a major overhaul on the graphics. Some of the RTP items like the rocks and things will be changed as well.

Let's Play Videos

Creation just did a pass and fail for Aftermath. The results were nice. Enjoy.
I plan on making a lot of my newer maps custom instead of RTP. The old RTP cave tile needs a rest now. I think it worked well for the first areas.

Thanks for the awesome review, Creation. Yeah, I worked hard on this game. I am going to take your advice and try to do some more custom work on the other maps. I want to get away from the old RTP cave since I did a lot of it with the first zones.
I'm going to display this video on my page. I'm glad you liked it and if you give it a solid go check out all the mutations and custom icons I did. I think I made around 80 custom icons so far.

Story vs. Features

author=Sailerius
The debate between gameplay and story is really silly. One isn't objectively better than the other. The bottom line is what matters in the end is the player's experience. If you can conjure a memorable experience in players by prioritizing story and characterization over gameplay, then do it. If you're not a great writer, but you can cause the player to have hours of fun exploring your world and conquering your challenges, then do it.

There's no magic formula to creating a rich, memorable experience. It's different for every developer and it's important to play to your strengths.

I agree with you on this. You make a strong point about who the developer is and what they can overall produce with their own talents. It's a factor that's easily missed when you try to see the world only from your own eyes. I sometimes forget that being so lost in my own projects. I admit that. Hell, that's probably how most people are.

Pass or Fail please for Aftermath Vx. Version 0.2.

Let's Play Videos

Improved on the battle system, and finding a weapon that I can kill enemies easy with. :) But still died somewhat. Should save every battle.

Indeed. Saving a lot is a very important thing to do.

Let's Play Videos

I have added a new page called Let's Plays. There is a guy named Dylan Machinima doing some commentaries of the game so I wanted to go ahead and put these videos up for people to watch. Enjoy.

If you wish to do some of your own commentaries tell me and I'll add you to this page.

NOTE: I added his fourth video which features 0.2. He has 3 more parts on his channel if you're interested.

Fixed the allies mid-step.

Looks improved from the other picture(original, now deleted), definately. The allies are in midstep though. Very interesting scene, makes me want to play this chapter when it comes out.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I'll get that fixed up. Yep, Chapter 1 is going to reveal the story line a lot more and should be pretty interesting. I have a lot of work to do on this, so it won't be out till around the fourth quarter of this year. It's going to be a lot bigger than the demo. I'm guessing for what I have in store 6+ more hours of play time. Making the game roughly 8+ hours including 0.2 with it.
