DRAKIYTH'S PROFILE

I am an old school gamer who loves to create bazaar projects and I specialize in themes and game play.

I have also been running the Crappy Game Reviews for over 4 years now. My old channel was hacked by somebody I used to live with and the games were removed. I have a new channel now.

Subscribe if you love watching shitty rpg maker games get reviewed. I have a staff on here but I also review a lot of games myself. I also post videos of the projects I am working on here.

Same gripe I had with a German game someone translated and posted on GW a while back, Desert Nightmare. Very cool tilesets, shit charsets. It's like all the good spriters died or something (or did they all go professional?
Nope, Desert Nightmare is a great game imho. It is made by the German old man ''Kelven''. One of his best games. He uses this kind of sprites in every game (he made about 20 games so far, I think, and about 10 are already done, but not released yet.). What's so wrong about this style? It is not a standard style it is an own style, man!

DE
BTW, I believe Deacon Batista was being ironic there
nope, I mean that. See, of course those ''stereotypes'' are not a fact for EVERYBODY, but for most of the people. I mean of course gameplay is the most important thing in a game, but atmosphere and graphics (which contains also light effects and good mapping) are also important and they only can make your game better if you do them well.

Neophyte
Also if that is the Batista I remember, he is part of the German community and has made a game in RPG Maker 2000. But I'm not sure, maybe he can correct me!
Absolutely correct. ''Miracle on RTP Street'', a little Xmas Game (http://www.rpgmaker.net/forums/index.php?topic=2757.msg51836#msg51836). It is untypical for German games, because normally Germans use Mac&Blue-Refmap chipsets and not the RTP and they do not make their games in English. I also made the first ever (?) Star Trek game (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PkphH6g1Hk<-- Download inside! :-D) for RPG Maker which is a little bit more typical, but it is not very easy to play/very challenging.

See, the best German games are untypical for Germans in its style. The same goes for ''your'' games. The stereotyping we are talking about mostly belongs to the average or bad games of both sides. But of course not for each and every single one. I hope that you understand me a little bit better now.

Dude final fantasy 1 on the normal Nintendo smears any german game I have ever played into the ground. Did it have fancy lights and bullshit like 81 fucking megs of PICTURES!? Hell no, but it rocked and was fun and that's what gaming is about.
You guys really put to much bullshit in your games.

I love how I walked around on my good rig and lagged every step because of all the bullshit in the background. I personally despise euro rpg maker games now if this is all they offer.

Also, not to be racist or anything but I think the majority of all this retarded work spent on graphics is because most of you euros don't got other shit to do over there. 3rd world countries at it's finest.

What annoys you in a game?

Or make a damn good procedural/random generation engine. With those, the work is in creating rules for how worlds occur, progress, and react to stimuli; after that, you can just have the thing generate as huge a world as you can. You can also probably recycle a lot of that code for different games, if you do it right.

Dude you just gave me a really kick ass idea for a future project. Imagine a game where each NPC has a random generator of text and they stick with it? One game session the NPC could say something and the next time you play through they say something entirely different and act different. This would be a long process to implement but goddamn would it be fun if done right. Would basically make each game you go through different.

EXAMPLE: NPC: Gregory The Wise

When you first talk to him he randoms 1 out of 8 things. Each thing contains a different quest. You can only get this one quest from him and that's it. If you don't play the load game and go with it, your next run could be something entirely different.

Pretty sweet stuff that would take a grip of work.

Aedemphia [NOT MINE]

Check this shit out everybody. I downloaded this monster of a game, looked at all the pretty pictures (well the landscape are) The animations are a joke and characters look pretty dreadful too. I played this, wanted to rock out with this.. So, I get in and I'm some chick who is a real bitch.. I am mean to everybody, I kill the shop keeper with "HOLY LIGHT". *facepalm*. Anyways, I put the game down in 10 minutes. The game was really choppy in some spots and honestly not fun at all. Something about it made me lose interest immediately. I just can't get into this game. I feel sorry for the chump who spent 4 years putting those pictures together because simple games i've played blow it away. Simple but Fun = WIN.

This game was focused to much on lighting and other stuff which was really nice but it still looked shitty in a lot of areas since it was way over done. Also, when your screen would come up it would lag like a mother and I got a good rig too. I just think this gazillion pictures for a game is pretty pointless to make a fun game.

I can name 2 games off the top of my head that rock this game and are simple but awesome.

Kentona's Hellion > Aedemphia

Max's ETG > Aedemphia

Much more but can't name em.

Aedemphia [NOT MINE]

That game has some amazing mapping. I mean holy shit. That church or whatever it is looks like it was made from a company. I don't know how they got so much shit compacted into such gorgeous graphics on rm2k3 like that. The guy must be an artist or something. To create a map that good he probably even has some degree of engineering and city designing in real life.

Though, like people said on here. What they show in graphics makes them suffer in other areas. I have personally not played this game but I might. I did try this one Korean game (forgot name) and it was pretty horrible but was gorgeous graphics.

Come to think of it. That sounds like most Korean MMORPG's

Do You Remember My Lullaby

That's just it April. You're a girl and like girly things. I'm more of a typical guy and are not into that kind of stuff. Overall, Reives has some great talent and I'm sure this game is rocken to people who love this type of style.

(My girlfriend has to bribe me to get me to see a chickflick) Overall it works, because the bribe is REALLY good ;)

Huge compliment to you Reives. I don't think any project is bad. I think everybody busts their ass on making these games for people to enjoy.

Aftermath: Bandit Factory (South Of Winslow)

Bandits have been attacking the people of Winslow and bringing them back to this
strange place. It seems this factory has been flooded, but why do the bandits still stay
here? Tales of a great monster that travels with this group of bandits resides here.
What is it? How do they have control of it? Find out in 0.6

So I thought I would ask you a question about your game. How many weapons are you looking at putting in?

I mean will you be putting in some sci fi, and potential future weaponry in your game? If you don't want to give it away don't worry about it. I was just curious as to how you felt and what you were going to do weapon-wise with your game.

Sci fi?
Realistic?
Futuristic?

A mix of those?

AFTERMATH 0.6 TEASER - BANDIT FACTORY

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXvOQQmiUJw

I really don't want to give to much away, but the weapons you find later on will blow your fucking mind.

Aftermath as you already know from 0.5 is getting interesting in the storyline with the CoS and their control over Flagstaff etc. The mystical parts are just going to become more and more a reality and there might even be contact with another world.

You shall see, but you're going to love the end weapons and faction choices going to be added into the game.

Factions will probably be introduced in 0.6 but might be held to 0.7 My goal with the 0.X is have the beta (Full Version) at 1.0. This gives me 4 content updates to release the full game. So, expect some long periods of time before a new launch. I might push back 0.6 until Feb or so. I have a lot to do on it, and I want Flagstaff to blow peoples minds.

Back to factions. I am going to introduce groups of people that can teach the main character how to become a certain class, but also reward him with things with more he does for that faction quest wise. Think of these as a Planescape Torment on the PC. In that game you had to choose between 8 or so factions and would get special items the more you did for that certain group. I plan on adding this type of stuff, along with new classes into Aftermath.

As for the weapons; you might join up with a faction that is highly advanced and learn how to use more advanced weapons like a laser canon.

I'm sure cohorts or other party members is a question being brought up. Will you ever get anybody else in your party? I personally don't know yet. I have designed the game for the main character to take on most of this shit. An extra party member might throw off the balances. What I might do though is add some skills/spells that let you summon a cohort to your aid that is controlled by the computer.

0.5 is only 16/20% of the game. I hope this answers your questions bro.

Do You Remember My Lullaby

This game had some great mapping and graphics but that's about it. I found the whole thing really boring. I could not play it for a long time because it was just not my thing at all. Good job on the graphics though, I think you could put together an epic rpg with your talent. You can do much better than this no doubt.

Also, Lullaby sounds to toddler for me. I almost did not try it because of that alone. Well, whatever floats somebodies boat I guess. Some people liked the movie Mamma Mia too. Just shows you got your softies and your hardcore out there.
