DRAKIYTH'S PROFILE

I am an old school gamer who loves to create bazaar projects and I specialize in themes and game play.

I have also been running the Crappy Game Reviews for over 4 years now. My old channel was hacked by somebody I used to live with and the games were removed. I have a new channel now.

Subscribe if you love watching shitty rpg maker games get reviewed. I have a staff on here but I also review a lot of games myself. I also post videos of the projects I am working on here.

Drakiyth, I am dying to know your opinon of EtG for obvious reasons.

I had to get the VX RTP and I downloaded the game just now. 90+ megs ftw lol.
How much do you have done on this?

I'm interested in seeing if you would enjoy Aftermath too.

Impressions so far.

I wake up on a table with people that locked themselves out of their own house. O.o
I get outside and it's freezing and I keep getting a message over and over that is really annoying that I'm fucken dieing and need to rest. So, as a new player, I try to find a way to rest and umm wtf how do you rest?

So, I finally make it into this other house after freezing my nuts off and go down this passage way after talking to this one dude down there. I get to this room and holy shit food, water and I can fucken rest!

I love how I am in deep conversation and people won't shut up and I die from starvation. I don't even have the skill until I get to that one room, but when I get to that room time is running out and they keep going blah, blah, blah and BLAM! Game Over. The difficulty is pretty high from what I have played so far.

The sounds are decent and the graphics are pretty good for the cartoonish style of VX. There is some things that need to be darker, but it snows a lot in your game so I understand the white outside. The houses could use more devastation, but you're pretty far into the future after the war so it's not totally devastated and burned up like it is in other games.

I liked the music, but some seemed kinda out of place. The title is "End of the world as we know it"; used in the movie 'Independence Day'. Though this song is pretty sweet, and has a point of what happened, it's still really upbeat and gives you a rock out feel and party time than survival horror.

Playing through this game, I saw A LOT of fallout 3 stuff. That's not a bad thing but try and cool it. Like the activation of the turrets to kill the super mutants in the museum stage. You did it with the basement in your game.

So far the game has a lot of potential but it's also a major headache when you try to get somewhere and you're on this annoying time limit. I do appreciate a hard game, I fucken love it, but this game goes overboard.

Once I cool down a bit and I'm not so pissed I'll give it another shot.

Overall I liked it. I think you did a great job and I give you a 7 out of 10. This game is above average for sure.

I also hate it when video games do not let me quit playing when I want to. There is sometimes no ability to quick save at any time. This is especially a problem in handheld games. I can put my handheld to sleep, but I can not be 100% guaranteed that it will still have my progress when I wake it up. Losing an hour's worth of progress just once or twice can make someone never want to play again.

Brandon: So like, should we just cover all game females in drab robes that cover everything but their eyes and show no body shape? :P Battle of the nuns.

If I recall, Agrias was basically a nun. Also when is the last time you have seen a real woman with an ass that huge. Seriously it is gross. She has a waist-hip ratio of like 0.33. It is 100% ghetto sex culture. I don't understand how you are arguing that illustration is showing a natural body shape. It is exactly the same as massive DDD breasts.

Also no I am not arguing that. I am arguing that over-sexualization of women in video games is wrong and it is gross. I can give a project the benefit of the doubt if both men and women in the game are sexualized and fashionable, but I can't do the same thing when women are portrayed as victims and trophies.

That type of attitude will ultimately make you "friends" with girls instead of "lover". Women despite what you think want a man in charge and not a pussy boy. They love for men to insult them once in a while because they constantly from every guy get compliments. Women like a guy with some sack dude.

Some girls in video games need to get the shit kicked out of them once in a while to show them the world is not fair and it's not perfect. I love my girlfriend to death but I don't let her walk on me and that's why she loves me to death. All her other boyfriends were crushed under her feet because they were pussies.

Women with nice big asses is hot. Who wants a bony butt?

I'm sleep deprived so if this did not make much sense sorry.

halibabica, I tried to download pokemon hunter 2 and keep getting this timed out error on the download link. I was thinking of reviewing it since it looks funny. As you know, I do video reviews of crappy games but I've never done a review for a real game.

If I did this I would post it on youtube for everybody to see lol.

How many hours is your game?

author=Tyranos link=topic=2678.msg52362#msg52362 date=1230147066
All I know is that I probably have the ingredients but I'm assuming that I need the second book.

And wow on the mind power. I have 229 speed is that good or bad?

By the way the bandit building locker cannot be opened. I don't know what you put in it but you should make a key for it since lockpicking can't get it open.

Also there is another locker that cannot be picked. Due to the cap. I hope they got stuff in them for later game releases. You need more lockpicking skill to open it but there is nothing to practice on.

Passability error free. Unless you are not supposed to be able to walk up to the counter like that? I assume you are since it looks fine.

There IS one bug that I noticed though. It seems that whenever you buy a weapon it comes with a free battle's ammo. I bought the 10mm MG and the first time I used it in a fight I shot it off two times. I checked my inventory and I still had 99 10mm bullets.

Same happened when I first got two SMG's. I assumed that you made it so that guns actually have a hidden ammo stat and go through a sort of reload the first time it happened since I won the fight with one attack. But the MG had no excuse being used 2 times it should have eaten up 6 ammo if my theory was right and 12 if I was wrong. It used none. Just for the first combat after you buy it. Nothing else I could find though.

Happens with every gun.

Also. FEAR MY WHISKEY BOMBS! Seriously though molotovs are VERY useful for bosses. The burn damage is a blessing since you can't poison as a shaman. I should play a seer next release.

The Bandit Locker and everything else in 0.5 CAN be opened. You need a higher skill dude. Try looking on the 2nd floor of the Toyota bar.

I put it in the patch notes as a hidden easter egg ;)

I made the Giant Scorpions immune to the burn damage lol. I noticed they were taking 1200+ a tick and was like um.. no lol

Ammo might have a few bugs but it's pretty clutch and I will try my best to fix what I can but if I can't fully fix it it's not game breaking at all. If you fire off a round with a major machine gun you will lose all the rounds it fires. I can't do anything about that since it's set every time you pull the trigger and there is no way to tell the game to remove ammo per attack.

Yeah, that's a fast character you have for sure.

Don'tcha worry, Drakiyth. After Christmas is over, I plan on looking through the list of games for which have gotten feedback so far and which haven't, and I'll do my best to play each of those entries and leave feedback (as well as post the list so others can, too).

Sweet. Thank you.

1 - Slow walking speed : Self explanatory, especially annoying when combined with...

2 - Frequent Random Battles : Oh boy, you mean I get to fight the dreaded retarded cabbit, THREE times in four minutes?

3 - Excessive mini games : Annoying mini games thrown in for no good reason. Especially irritating when these mini games are difficult and required for you to advance.

4 - Half naked female characters : Honestly, this is getting a bit tiresome. Every female protagonist has to be made out of a pre-packaged template and sold to an imbecilic player base. Even Samus, who once possessed dignity, has been subject to this courtesy of Super Smash Brothers Brawl... Or maybe it came before then; I don't keep track.

5 - Excessive sequels : Tales of Destiny, Tales of Destiny 2, Tales of Inferia, Tales of The WORLD, Tales of Symphonia..> AGAL:GHDAOK Stop making these crappy interchangeable games with crappy interchangeable characters and crappy interchangeable plots. Tales of Destiny 1 was probably the only one I enjoyed; and that's probably just the nostalgia talking.

6 - Fallout clones : Sorry, but I've seen two of these thus far; and I'd wish they'd just go away... Of course, I didn't really care too much for fallout 3.

Fallout does not have magic and Indians that deal with mystical and unseen beings the world before the war has never known.

Aftermath does.

Just because it's post nuclear or post apocalyptic does not make it a fallout clone.
There is a lot of games and movies based in a post nuclear world before fallout 1 even launched. Mad Max might ring a bell.

Also, not caring for Fallout 3 just shows you're pretty square. That's one of the best games ever made.

Slamming me and Max is pretty childish.

-I hate leveling, not just is it annoying that in most cases even with the best strategy you still need level to have CHANCE against some enemy, but also if you go and fight to your heart´s content you may end up overlevel and own enemies too easily. It also gives a chance for dumb ppl to claim "I finished X ultra hard RPG, I am very good gamer!" when all they did was sit pressing attack button while their mind was somewhere else.

Only excetion is when you use exp to customize your character in irreversible ways to the point where a bad build/skill choice might fuck you up for good, as long as there is a "good build" for each kind of player.

-I HATE equipment upgrading (maybe even more than leveling) because most of the time you just get to a new town and you get to check shops and you barely has a choice: you just buy the next most powerful thing of each equipmnent for each character, which is just a mindless chore, then you have to sell the old stuff back. On top of that, whenever there is an equip with a special property (inflict/resist status/element) said item will soon be outdated in favour of something which is overal better. So where is the strategy in chosing equipment? Also no, a steel sword won´t cut meat 200x more than Iron one, it may just take longer to break clashing against bones/armor.

I want to go to an equip store and just find different brands of balanced itens to buy according the different needs. Maybe an armor which gives +10 Defense then an armor which gives +7 defense but +3 agility or other which gives +2 defense but makes me VERY resistant to ice.

-I hate the classic predictable and very artificial RPG flow where you go to town, buy stuff, talk to NPCs, then walk on map, reach dungeon, fight ramdom monsters, kill boss then town again... It is sick :P Every hell hole shitty cavern has a damn boss, every town sells every equip your party needs and NPCs only give you the info you want or ramdom one line stuff about their lame artificial lives. Also dungeons follow an incredibly predictable architeture to the point I always know which way to go for loot and to find the boss.

I think we need more vilages being raid, more safe camp spots and meeting other adventurers/soldiers in dungeons, bosses which appear in unexpected places and dungeons which... oh no boss there :O

-I usually hate last dungeons: If the game is bad I know the ending already and I will be too lazy to level up for the most dificult and probably boring dungeon.

If game is good I may just get depressed that my wonderful adventure is going to end...

Best ways to solve this: Don´t let me know it is the last dungeon, make previous dungeons seem like they would be the last to the point I stop believing when characters say "this will be our last battle" and of course, store a lot of unsolved things for the end and let them all hanging for the whole game, the ending is the time for answers, not before the last dungeons as Square loves to do. If I have all the answers I can basically predict the ending.

-I hate looong walks though empty spaces, ramdom encounters just make it worse

-I hate ramdom encounters, I can play games with that, but I´d rather have everything touch based.

-I hate pure healers/pacifist characters, if you can´t at least kill something, stay in your church/hospital and let the brave ppl do the dirty job you sissy cowards. Death to White Mages.

-I hate when everything depends on kids/teenagers. I don´t mind some young heroes here and there, but decisions should be made by adults, the older and more experienced the better.

--I hate the platonic relationships involving the dumb/shy/cold hero and the shy/avoidant/religious girl which stay just indirect until the end and stays like that. No kisses, hugs, marriage, sex, no concrete relationship, nothing, just shitty anime cliched insituations of interest. Better make everyone just friends than that.

-I hate when the villain feels more right to my ideals than the hero, or more developed, this makes me think I am playing the wrong side. It almost made me quit playing Tales of Phantasia and when I beat it I was still hating Cless for his stupidity.

-I hate having a specific main hero in a party who I can´t relate to (most of the time I relate to the older experienced character/mentor ) but is there and I can´t dismiss to put on a better/more interesting character. And even when I can, the hero is the best playable character which is still not fair. FF6 was the only game that handled this issue perfectly. I wonder why in hell it was not done again (it should become a fucking LAW :P). I don´t mind any of that with single heroes (Link, Alundra, Slade (IGV), neither with small parties (Wild Arms).

-I hate having battles in puxzle areas, I want to either fight or solve a puzzle.

-I HATE HATE HATE when story and game mechanics clash, it is not hard at all to at least deceive the player into thinking things work the same in and out of battles and Phantasy Star IV is there to show proof. If something kills a character outside battle the rest of the party should try to use regular means to revive/heal the fallen friend and if it doesn´t work I want an explation of how come someone can endure NUKES but dies by a regular sword hit. Was the blade poisoned? did it has any magic to it? Even if the characters are not sure, they should be surprised and concerned because it was something different than what happens REGULARLY in battle :P

-As Suzu, I hate repeition, staying in the same area, fight the same enemies with the same skills... boring

-I hate the anti ecologic monster devastation in RPGs, no matter how furry and defenseless a monster is it will attack you or you are able to attack it, even if your characters claim to be fighting for nature, life and good. Pitting monsters to fighting arenas is just as cruel. I could see an amoral hero doing those things, but not your typical jRPG hero.

I think humans are far better "monsters" since most of the time, we have more conscience of what we do, so when we fight someone, it is instinct and if villain human goes against me I do have A LOT of pleasure giving then some bloody pain and tormenting death :P

Well there is probably more... :P

Dude, it's a video game. You sound like you just want to read a good novel.
I would love to see you personally make a game without all the shit you just mentioned.

Equipment Upgrades??? Why the hell would you hate to get a new weapon? O.o Some of the shit you said is mindless babble. Wtf kind of post is this? I have played RPG's since dragon warrior 1 and it's always had some kind of grind. Every game has a grind, and if it doesn't it's not an RPG. Even life has it's grinds that we have to do to survive/get better.

Would it be to late to get a review for Aftermath 0.5 on here? Would absolutely love some feedback from somebody. I busted my ass pretty hard on this game. Just the editing of maps and battle animations alone took over one hundred hours for what I got out.

Very nice. I got to flagstaff. I will try to find the second volume of the craft books.

Also I liked that fight on the way to flagstaff. It made me sweat.

Anyways some more sidequests would be nice especially in the second town and indian camp. Speaking of the indian camp you should develop it a little more as well.

It's not like you don't need the exp. That's for sure.

I just went through the game with a shaman, took about 6 hours I think.. I ended up level 18 with 489 mind power lol. Once you get divine bolt shaman really picks up. You can only use it on aggressive enemies though.

Going through the demo myself the entire way and putting those nasties at the end on farm status I felt the game might need a couple touches in the side-quest area just like you said. The next content update will have some things but it won't be out till probably feb since I'm going to be busy after Christmas. I want 0.6 to be a huge surprise thing so I'm not going to hype it like 0.5. I'm just going to get everything ready and shock the Aftermath fans.

Thanks for the feedback and good luck on making a Brain Enhancer which is 0.5's main challenge.
