Thanks! I studied a lot of old Amano artwork from the early-mid 90s while designing these dudes, so the FF influence is pretty obvious. x3
Ahahaha, there's a few patterns you notice after looking at his work
1) Colourful scarves... lots and lots of colourful scarves.
2) Solid colours are for pussies. Patterns are the way to go.
3) SPIKES. Also, shoulder armour.
My eyes will likely never recover from all the colours I was forced to bear witness to. ;u;

Perhaps you ought to make a thread about this elsewhere if you're so keen on discussing it. You won't get the same depth of discussion while commenting on a screenshot that you would if you posted in the forums. c:

Yeeeeah, but VX has a very square "grid", if you get what I mean. The autotiles don't do that...diagonal thing...? You know, how it looks in the older makers, what with the rounder edges and what not.
AGH, I am terrible at explaining things like this. Basically: parallax maps are nice because you don't have to worry about the grid.
