Well, I can always offer compromises by making alternate endings. =)
ngl that's exactly how I fixed that problem for myself: complex systems of multiple endings. OTL

Not going to be so simple, I'm afraid, given Pat's backstory. To sum it up, the little guy was abandoned at a young age, then was taken in by a bishop who went on to become the leader of Pat's Brotherhood. And as a sign of gratitude, he decided to become a priest and take on a vow of celibacy. He's also a person of his word. His star sign ( Pisces ) may be compatible with Laine's ( Capricorn ) but I can't see them together in the long run. ;_;
Isn't that just the literal worst??
I HAVE SO MANY SHIPS THAT WILL NEVER BE SHIPPED because omg personality clashes/they're already exes/someone burned down the other person's city/etc.
But hey, that's what AUs are for. >_>
U.S. Imperialism & Homophobia

You are dead right in saying that I, as a white person, don't need to preach at you about racism. You get what it actually feels like. There are probably other people in here who don't need that 101 stuff, but from what I saw, it was something that could potentially be useful. My post was directed at folks who could use that info.
...also I was legit only gonna touch YM's post because I felt the need to apologize, but I just can't help myself.

Frankly, there was a nice, friendly conversation going on before you jumped in angrily
Was there, now.

I can't even tell what he's talking about because of the insane made up shitspeak like "Homonationalism" and "Pinkwashing". Also who and or what are PoC and QPOC?

People like this guy are complete idiots.

In otherwords its pure bullshit.

This is all drivel. He's making excuses to hate people.

These tumblr-activist's opinions matter as much to normal people as AIDS is happy news. As it should, because most of their rambling is either made up or straight up lies. Sources for information tend to be other tumblr-activists.
You sure about that, Lib? Because this stinks of a circlejerk to me, and it's suspicious as hell to me that the second someone came in who disagreed - and used at best better or at worst identical tone to the overall tone of the thread - it turned into "anger" and w/e. Why is that, I wonder?
What you are doing is a textbook example of language policing, aka dismissing an argument by saying the person is "angry" or "upset" or whatever. But look at the quotes I just quoted: are they not angry? Are they not bitter? How was the way I said my piece any different, aside from the content? Why did things get "angry" only after I posted?
If I were you, I would seriously take some time to examine why your perception of the tone changed after I walked in, because I would argue that my tone - as sarcastic and 100% done sounding as it was in that first post - is merely a reaction to the tone already present in this thread.
U.S. Imperialism & Homophobia
author=Yellow Magicauthor=emmychHere's another fun-fact: You have interacted with at least two 'PoCs' in this thread. I myself haven't heard the term 'PoC' used before (must be an American thing?) and honestly do not like it, like, at all.
Funnily enough, I am not just talking about Adon. I am bitterly laughing about this whole entire thread, as it is not the first of its kind I've seen.
Please know your audience before linking to stuff like "Racism School" - I do not need a white person telling me I should feel oppressed, and I do not care how much privilege you think you have.
And that's fair enough. I apologize that I came across as patronizing you; that was certainly not my goal.

Something for y'all to think about, though: why does making topics like this make you feel better?

Anyways. I don't want to waste my time on most of the response I've gotten and get into scraps, but there were two things I wanted to touch: Liberty's comment, and a PM Adon sent me (I hope it's okay that I share your question here! I think it's important.)
author=actually, if you took the time to explain in a polite and friendly manner, and not just assume, you might realise that people are more likely to listen to what you have to say.

When/If you have the time to, could you please give a summary (i suppose) between race, gender, sexuality & how they all relate to U.S. imperialism? i'm not very old or wise or experienced, being like 15. I understand that racism, sexism, and homophobia still exist in this world very much, and that the U.S. does get involved with smaller nations abroad, but how can those things all connect? And who is responsible for the damages?
Here's the thing, Liberty: I have been having these discussions long enough that I'm at the point where I know that people do not always listen when I sit down and talk about this nicely. These are massive, uncomfortable topics, and sometimes you can write a damn essay and be 100% right, and people will still ignore what you're talking about and call you crazy/rude/wrong/whatever because they are so uncomfortable.
It becomes not a situation of wanting to educate people or not, but solely one of picking your battles. This discussion, on this platform, at this place and time? I don't predict a good outcome. I don't have hopes that it'll end well and that I'll lead everyone skipping into the sunset where they will magically understand colonialism and queerphobia and w/e. I predict that the same thing that always happens will happen: a few people who already agree with me or can at least see where I'm coming from will give a nice thumbs up, and a whole bunch of people will jump down my throat, and I'll end up tired and frustrated and wondering "what was the point of all of that."
I don't wanna put myself through that today, so, for that reason, Adon, no, I can't provide a short summary about this. Not only that, it is also a massively huge and complex topic that I don't fully grasp yet, so I am not the person to be educating people about it. I am still learning about it.
However. I accept that people may want to learn, and I'd be loath to leave without at least helping those who genuinely wish to learn!
Firstly: don't discard things because they're "hostile" or short or on social media. Social media discourse exists because marginalized groups such as POC, queer folks and women are often barred from places where they CAN have such discourse. They are often silenced, threatened, or punished for speaking out. Social media is great for this, because marginalized groups can find some sort of solidarity in their experience without risk of losing their jobs/physical harm/etc.
I know it can be hard. I am already a person with multiple marginalized identities, so trying to recognize my own privilege can be like pulling teeth sometimes. However, it's important to remember that it's not always about me, and that living with racism is like 10000x worse than learning I've perpetuated it. Yes, your feelings are probably going to get hurt a few times, but you can't make your hurt feelings more important than marginalized people talking about their experiences.
Secondly, try to redefine hostile. Liberty, you described the twitter posts as "hostile", and I'm gonna say that I disagree with that assessment entirely. I'm white, so, the guy is talking about my people, and I still didn't find it to be hostile because I've taken the time to learn about whiteness and colonialism and the effects that's had on people and my communities. I would posit that someone would feel attacked from reading this because of their own discomfort with the material at hand, not because anyone is being attacked. This is a fucking uncomfortable discussion, sure, but it's one that has to happen if we ever seek to rectify the herculean wrong that colonialism was (and still is, lbr).
Thirdly, a lot of this comes from using critical thinking skills and listening to a lot of different people. Originally I was gonna go hunt down a bunch of links for you guys, but this isn't stuff that can be neatly summed up into a basic article. Go read about how race and queer sexuality/gender intersect, the effects of colonialism, what cultures were like PRE-colonial times (and note how things changed after white people showed up! Google how two-spirited people in NA indigenous cultures were treated pre-contact, for an example). Go read criticisms of western gay-activist groups during the Olympics in Russia (here's a great example) for some easy examples of why what this dude was talking about is so insidious and dangerous.
For some links: this is a pretty good primer about racism and an excellent place to start educating yourself about allyship w/e. While it's about race, some of the concepts translate easily over to being an LGBT ally, or an ally of women, an ally to disabled folks, etc.
Racism School
This is an important concept in topics like this (sexuality + race, gender + race, gender + race + sexuality, etc.), because it's important to remember that not all opinions of this matter are equal.
Finally, remember: the onus of your education is on you. No one is going to take your hand and teach you all about this stuff. I have had to learn about racism and colonialism and w/e on my own, because PoC do not owe me a heart-to-heart enlightening discussion, and you will have to do the same.
And that is honestly all I have left to say on the subject.
U.S. Imperialism & Homophobia
As an actual part of the LGBT+ community, yes, this stuff absolutely does happen. I'm not going into it with any of you because I'm not stupid enough to think you'll listen to me: you just wanna have a circlejerk about those stinkin' social justice warriors and lol I don't have time for that.
Something for y'all to think about, though: why does making topics like this make you feel better? Why does attempting to discredit discourse about social issues - even if it takes place on a social media platform - make you feel good? Why do you find this person talking about the complex relationship between race, sexuality, gender and imperialism to be so threatening? (Also the fact you guys don't even understand basic - like, not even 100 level basic - acronyms like QPoC makes me think you are WOEFULLY under qualified to be engaging in any kind of discussion about race and LGBT+ activism!)
Also like lol at you guys making sweeping statements about how tumblr is stupid when the screencap in question is from Twitter. You are all going to kill me and the cause will be laughter.
I'm gonna die bitterly laughing at this

As it should be. *maniacal laughter*
...no but in all seriousness: after a lifetime of slogging through dude filled casts, it's exciting to see some women-filled parties! And, like, a relationship of note being the MC and her sister? I AM INTO THIS I am all there for lady-centric narratives.
I look forward to playing this! :D
Developer Blog #4: Get Drunk, Do Drugs, and Sober Up
I see this, and all I do is find myself asking, "why?"
No but really: why go to the effort of implementing a custom substance abuse system? Does this have any mechanical purpose? Does it serve the narrative at all? Are there adverse effects of drinking two jugs of moonshine and following it up with a bunch of cocaine, or...what?
Like I just...I don't get it.
