I'm kinda in the same boat as McGee over here? I usually don't stick with screennames, and it's been VERY difficult not to swap it out for something else.

How do you make friends?
i mostly made a lot of weird jokes and was active in a small community. eventually a few people started talking to me and EVEN ASKED FOR MY YIM AND STUFF and boy howdy i sure did the chat thing and it was stressful because ANXIETY.
later on, i reconnected with a coupla old folks from that same community who ended up sharing my values a lot more, and i also joined up with a friend's gaming group and met people through that.
now i spend my friday nights RPing about gay vampires. you, too, can achieve this level of success by initiating conversations with other people who seem cool.

Oh man, totally. I was stubbornly not going to buy the tiles since like "I CAN MAKE MY OWWWWNNN~~~", but it got tothe point where I was ogling them daily and it needed to stop. OTL

Revive the Dead
1. Because LIFE IS OVERWHELMING and I just...ended up not working on it for a long time. It's never really been "dropped", but there was at least a solid year of me not touching it and barely thinking about it, so I think it counts. >__>
2. BECAUSE I SWORE I WOULD SEE IT FINIIIIISHED also I really love the fake people involved and I want to torture them/share their hijinks with the world. <3
...look it started out as a more SERIOUS GAM and has ended up very light-hearted and comedic and non-lethal (I think one character dies??? Maybe???? Like not even random enemy scrubs die: they just become too demoralized to fight), and I like it much better this way. ;w;

Palette Swaps: A discussion.
I say go for it! It saves time, and you can always go back and add more graphics later.
I mean, yeah, too many palette swaps gets kinda stale, but I'd still rather play a full game than have a project get cancelled because of the graphical load.
Basically cut corners wherever you can with graphics and do so with no shame. It is REALLY EASY to add more graphics later, and, again, finishing your game is what's important here.
*goes back to working on custom tilesets like a total hypocrite*
