Yoshio's theme from Tokimeki Memorial comes to mind! Also Miyuki's theme from Tokimeki Memorial 2. The downside would be that some datesim players would recognize those.
How about music like Katamari Damacy music? Who doesn't love this theme?

That's got a nice retro-but-not-too-retro-look.

How can you create an event from a script?

I second what Raoul589 said about creating empty events within the map editor and then twisting them into the shape you want. In fact you could just create a single empty event on a single map. Then store it in a global variable and duplicate it any time you need a new event.

Dozen, are you aware of the cheats in the game? It occurred to me that you might not be, and since you're a serious user testing content you might find it useful to know them. PM myself or Marrend and we'll spill the info. That offer goes out to anyone.

Battling in games, but.. why?

That's almost like the Bethesda approach -- you level up for everything you do. If you are overcoming your foes by sneaking past them (or behind them for a one-hit kill) your sneak aptitude will increase and you'll level up that way. In Oblivion you'd even level up just by walking around.
