Visual appeal vs other content

It's not like it takes forever to implement good graphics in a game. I don't think everyone here is expected to create their own music, sound effects and graphics for all of their games so it's pretty minimal effort to find/rip what you need. That's why bad graphics in rpgmaker piss me off because it's such an easy thing to improve. I'm pretty sure that most people here despise RTP for that reason.

Amazing, 10 minutes after I posted, we've all degraded into talking about graphics. My attempt at discussion about things other graphics has failed completely. The only one who bothered to say anything on topic is sarcastically mocking me.


Uhh, well when you make an action scene in rpgmaker what else are you supposed to criticize? I mean the main thing in action scenes is literally action, and action is comprised of little dudes moving around the screen hitting each other. You want us to comment on the dialogue or something?

Those battle animations look absolutely retarded. The last thing you want to do in rpgmaker is show off the limitations of rpgmaker. If you're going to have all those battle animations on the screen at once you need to convert the frames of the battle animations you want to use into single picture files and use those instead, otherwise you're going to be limited to a single battle animation at a time.

Sorry for the late reply:

Happy note is some super secret way to gain access to the hidden forum. The embarrassing part about this is that it's so super secret and the way there is hidden across multiple events in the game that I've completely forgotten how to access it or what the Happy Note is even for. In fact I have no idea where to even find the note anymore, if you can message me where you found that thing that would be cool.

All the ladders around SM.net are for show at the moment, but I have plans to change the layout of the outside of it to make it a bit larger so you'll be able to run around outside the castle and whatnot.

Sorry about the MogOfGlory bug, I just noticed what you were talking about and it was something blindingly simple like forgetting a switch. It only affects Dragondyne at the moment, so sorry about that :(

As for the drugs, drugs decrease the players health. I plan on adding in some stats that will increase with certain drugs as well.


If you want to simulate drug addiction you could have the players' health temporarily take a massive boost on drugs but then go down alot lower than what it was before, making the player decide between getting another massive HP boost due to how gimped his HP is now or quitting while he still has money to spare.
