I'll give this a try soon but judging from the screenshots I wonder if the HUD sometimes hinders your sight. The z and x equipment windows look bigger than needed.

You should not have something like the sword on shift or it will trigger the sticky keys and be very annoying,maybe you should use the space bar instead.
but i cant use space cuz that does the actions like talk accept and such
i cant think of anything else anyway
