Mad at RMVX's capabilities?

I wish that there would be a hack or something to restore RMXP's massive tilesets.

Maybe in RMVX2013 :(

Dream Jobs?

Or being a conductor, even with all the stuff that goes along with it (I've learned from a reputable source it's more than just waving your arms around).

Yeah actually that's all it is. There's a lot of wheeling and dealing and paperwork and stuff to do but at the end of the day the most famous conductors are the ones that seem to have the least practice conducting. Almost all of a conductor's work is done at a desk and not in front of an orchestra.

Of the consoles you own, which is your favorite?

I got my PC upgraded for 300-400 bucks, it can run crysis on medium. Just got to know someone computer savy to customize your computer.

This is the problem. When you buy an XBox 360 or PS3 for 300-400 dollars you can expect to play the hottest games off the shelf. However on the PC you can only expect to run the hottest games at medium settings for the same investment. People argue that a PC is good for things other than gaming, but your $300 video card is most certainly not. I have a decent PC and play a lot of PC games (it would be my favorite platform if it weren't for Neverwinter Nights 2 lagging no matter how awesome my PC is and X3 crashing all the time and Crysis being a bastard and the whole experience generally being a pain in the ass), but seriously I would never recommend to anyone that they put themselves through it.

So I downloaded Legacies of Doodieroodie 2 today but it requires the RTP so I can't play it. I know you guys will tell me to download it and everything but I'd rather not go down that road so

Guys you seriously need to make your games stand-alone. You can't expect a ton of people to play it if they have to download other crap. What about getting traffic from outside of the community?

Any the half of the soundtrack that Harmonic wrote is excellent and you should play it.

Your opinion on RTP

Release Something! Day II [Release Thread]

Wilfred the Squire Prototype:

http://www.brandonabley.com/Wilfred_the_Squire_March_2008_Prototype.zip

This is the prototype to a dungeon-crawlery game I am making with RPG Maker VX. It is a prequel to Wilfred the Hero but I don't think that's important because I never finished that game!

Wilfred the Squire is a puzzle game, especially in its prototype form as all battles are resolved in one or two hits.

It features mostly custom art and music assets made by me. A lot of RTP is leftover because I'm using it as a placeholder.

Anyway it's sort of playable and kind of fun so enjoy!

This game is completely self-contained and requires no RTP downloads or anything like that. Just run the installer and go.

I've learned that I paint a lot

12ft by 16ft would be HUUUUUUGE my room isn't even that big!

Yeah I was kidding =P I worked security in an art museum on and off for a for years and a couple years ago every artist alive was insistent on making these huge, room-sized stuff that was pretty amazing but it was such a fad. Room-sized self-portraits at unattractive angles (hello nosehairs) were strangely hip and so were gigantic mosaics.

Incidentally last year all the popular exhibits featured tiny art such as finely detailed paintings on postcards that you had to squint to make out. It's like French Minimalism all over again

Game Downloads fixed for site games

Excellent timing.

Hard Parts of Game Making?

author=dreampainter link=topic=578.msg10708#msg10708 date=1205940149
Second would probably be village design. For some reason, I really have a
tough time motivating myself to map out, and design a town. The game I
am currently on is full of several cool dungeions, but many half-finished
towns.

Why don't you make a dungeon crawler without any towns then? Not only would it cater to your skills but it would be a little different from every other RPGmaker game and thus probably a little better.

Release Something! Day II [Discussion]

Yeah I have a barely-functional-but-not-at-all-really-playable prototype I'll put up tonight.
