Dude, this looks rad. I really those Wild Arms trees with the Rudra village tileset.

Saracasium perhaps?

I'm ashamed to say that english is my native language and I still can't see any grammatical errors at all, i'll blackmail get someone to fine tune it for me.

Demo is an epic fail, not sure if i'm gonna release it today or not, probably some different screen shots, i'll see how it goes...When is the next release day?

Dude just release something <3

Watcha been up to lately?

so are the fire emblem games whorth playing? i've been looking for a new game to pick up.

Yeah they are fun. They are very straight strategy though like Advance Wars or Shining Force or something and you don't have the rich character customization that you get with Final Fantasy Tactics etc. The games are designed around this, though, and the pre-defined roles of each of your characters are all extremely important so they end up being extremely smart titles. Very strategic and you can very very rarely get away with relying on overlevelling or brute force. The Wii game is the best but if you want to play on the go the GBA titles were okay too.

I'm also trying to loose some weight, since I've gained a lot over the past 3 years, so I hope all goes well. My goal is 25 pounds off by June-July and in a week I've already lost 5.83 pounds! Yay!

So let's turn this into fitness topic.

Yeah like WIP inplied almost all problems people have with their weight can be traced back to basic element or two in their diet and/or lifestyle and it actually isn't very hard to lose weight if you identify those problems. Also note that WIP has been takinge exceptionally good care of himself lately so he's a good person to go to for weight loss advice. Other major culprits for fatness are (this is general ranting I guess you seem to be doing fine in your weight loss routine):

1. Not getting enough sleep. Your metabolism never fires up if you are tired all the time and you will also have a higher appetite.

2. Dinner. In most countries people don't even eat supper. You should have a big lunch (hard to do I know because we all have jobs and stuff and it's also a helpful tool in family-building) and have a snack in the evening but seriously dinner is not a natural or healthy practice to indulge in. In Germany the family gets together and everyone eats like a slice of buttered bread in the evening instead of unhealthy supper.

3. Stress. Stress screws up your hormonal balance and while you won't gain *more* fat you will deposit it in less attractive areas. This is where potbellies come from. Incidentally you can manage stress by getting enough sleep and by exercising (surprise).

4. Desk jobs. Unsurprisingly the average person gains about 20 pounds within five years of starting a desk job lifestyle. I don't have a source but I have read it at legitimate places so it's true and it makes sense anyway. If you have a desk job you have to be extra careful with your habits because you have an extra several hundred calories per day that don't get burnt when you don't have a job that requires you to stand and move around a lot (such as a restaurant server, department store employee, construction, plumbing, prostitution etc).

5. Not abusing drugs. It's well-established that the fastest way to shed pounds is to become a cocaine addict so maybe you should try that.

8. Yu-Gi-Oh (sue me; I loved it as a kid. don't play it anymore unless I'm babysitting)

Man I know so many people in their 20s and 30s that still play the game and while I am sure that includes some people in this forum and I am about to offend them like HOLY CRAP it's pretty creepy when a grown man plays such a stupid game.

Your opinion on RTP

author=GreatRedSpirit link=topic=808.msg10712#msg10712 date=1205950036
I don't see anything wrong with the RTPs (except VX being rediculously square 'n all)

I think that for homebrew development that sort of style is much better-suited to prototyping than someone that breaks the grid. I won't really get into explaining why.

I think that the RTP is cute and everything and I am pretty certain that I prefer it over rips because rips are really fucking retarded, but I can't say I like it when every game looks like the same thing. Really I wish there were a greater breadth of royalty-free resources out there or people willing to take the time to get at least good enough at spriting to make a somewhat-presentable homebrew but unfortunately there are not. There have been numerous efforts to try and get RTP-replacement packages created but as the nature of hobbies go people usually don't want to commit themselves too seriously so it never happens. I'm really bummed that the Mac'n'Blue guy/s were hired to make the official tiles for the newer RPGMakers because that means that there wasn't anyone to make REFMAP packs for XP and VX.

Also holy shit it makes me so depressed that nobody in the US scene picked up on XP and VX because the resolutions were incompatible with their stolen Super Nintendo graphics. SERIOUSLY GUYS

We Did It First screenshot thread

Well, 4th post here. Some might know me... others may not.
Anywho, I have a screenshot (mockup however) of a game I'm currently making.
Should be fairly obvious what it is to anyone born before 1990.

Dude that's a great idea. Duck Tales would probably be a great setting for an Adventure game (but I guess every children's cartoon would be).

I've learned that I paint a lot

PAINTING

You're definitely improving in terms of technique with every painting! The things you paint are starting to "pop" a little more and feel more three-dimensional. I have some issues with the geographical features of your painting but whatever.

You're pulling all of these scenes out of your head, right? I'd like to see the results if you were to try and paint a scene from the real world. When Shiro told me one day to draw things from the real world for awhile before you trust your own imagination I noted that it was very good advice. I never followed it and that is probably why I remain a terrible artist.

Also I assume that by 12x16 you mean 12 feet by 16 feet right? Dude, massive paintings are soooooooooooo 2005.

Top Ten Topic: Card Games

Kentona you are such an old man.

Anyway like a lot of top ten topics I don't feel too strongly about a full ten sooo

5. Magic: The Gathering (I don't play anymore but man when I was in middle school 10 years ago this was the coolest thing ever)
4. King's Corners
3. Poker
2. Blackjack (I prefer it over Poker because it's a quick game)
1. Go Fish (Seriously who doesn't love Go Fish)

line's end

Dude Lysander left the community like five years ago and you should really just give up.

Of course knowing him he'll register here just to reply to this thread and claim he is still working on it because he has a weird sense of humor like that.

Personally, I like Leonardo's work.

But Donatello does machines . . . !

Something Recent

I think it looks good although one eye is bigger than the other. Other than that, it's good. :)

Actually that is true of most real peoples' faces too so

Anyway that's a decent sketch!
