I think you only view it this way because you do not create your own art.

There are lots of enhancements between RM2k3 and XP and VX for artists (although . . . VX is a little more constricting). The increase resolution allows you to use cartoons in ways that just weren't really presentable in grainy RM2k3.

Also, graphics technology in mainstream games hasn't changed much in ten years! The last major development was to a full-3D environment with pixel shaders etc (lighting, bump mapping, physics, real-time deformation etc). It's really just a matter of polygon count, texture detail, and how many shaders games can handle. Does Gears of War 2 look fundamentally different than Quake 3, outside of polish and levels of detail?

I used to feel this way until I was single. I am no longer single and have not been for 11 months, but that period of time was enough to turn me into a convert. Sometimes you don't want to actually have a conversation with someone . . . you just want to tell them something.

I could see this as a brilliant marketing plan aimed towards teenagers and unfaithful husbands. Want to tell your wife that you'll be home late and don't want to answer her questions? Text her!

It really sucks that so few women enjoy proper games.
I hate the fact that nintendo is trying to 'introduce' women to gaming by actually making a target market for them, as though other games weren't at all targeted for females. And then women/girls actually end up buying 'fashion:designer' or whatever, instead of other, actual good games that they could be getting their teeth into, but don't because they just haven't been introduced, and apparently if it isn't pink, it isn't for girls.

Well, are you really that interested in fashion, or makeup, or the way your throw pillows coordinate with your drapes? I think it's okay that there are real gender differences in terms of what different people are interested in. You don't want to have to fight over who gets to play 360 after a long, hard day of work, do you?

Persona games are really good! I would recommend Persona. I cannot say specifically if it is better than Growlanser, because I have not played Growlanser. Be warned that Persona has first-person dungeon crawling like the old gold box D&D games or Etrian Odyssey - not everyone likes that type of gameplay.
