Fanboys in general, irritate me to no end
I simply give an example that most of people are familiar with, nothing else.
though, If you want to mock me, I should change my behavior accordingly.

mawk, please read my post again, I didn't say you don't exist, I said prove that you do exist. Proving something need Hypothesis, most of time we accept Hypothesis that are practical, but dose that means they are correct? We were proved wrong multiple times, through history.
Let me make an example: Do you think Tidus in FFx existed in Spira? and how do you prove that you are not the same on Earth? you can answer: it dose not matter. and this is exactly when you accept something without any reason.
anyway I think I said what I wanted, I promise, I won't say anything else in this regard :P

author=CorfaisusThen prove to me you do exist (or prove that to yourself). these are unsolved philosophical problem from the beginning of time. If you really think you know why you believe in such a things, you are fooling yourself.author=meisamOf course you do, it's the reason why you even accept your own opinion. If you can agree with something, you adopt it as your opinion. If you disagree with it, you don't.
you don't need to have a reason to believe in something
Nobody has ever believed in anything that was personally unfounded, regardless of whether or not this has been proven to be true. That'd be like saying that you need to believe in something and get reaffirmation of its truth from the belief itself in order to initially believe in it.
of course, there is always an option to let your mind play with you.

I like to say 1 more thing, you don't need to have a reason to believe in something, and it doesn't mean you will be fanboy.
a fanboy is someone, who don't know why something is good, but he raise some kind of argument, that in itself is logical, but he intentionally (or unintentionally) hide some facts to make his point logical.
I make the extremest example
A believer of God is not a fanboy until he try to explain existence of the god with logic, and try to say its completely natural that EVERYONE must believe in god.

Dragon Quest: Legacy of the Lost
No need to apologize, You created a wonderful game (not to mention its free). A lot of game mechanic was awesome; crafting, side quest, Notorious monsters and lots of other things. I enjoyed the game and i learned a lot from it. At the same time you take the time and created this, I should at least try to give feedback. I am not complaining, I am trying to show you what's wrong (in my view). I hope when you read this, you forget that its your game, and see this as a discussion about game design.
Lets discuss about this Olian guy, After the thief den I didn't talk with Dallius so I didn't know he want to see his brother(i didn't even know they are brothers), my mission was to save Esrach and i did it, why should I talk with him again? From game progression side there is absolutely no reason. This means, one of 4 main characters of the game died, without any logical reason.
I even tried to recruit Olian before volcano, but since the trigger of his disappearance is talking with Dallius Or Volcano event, he sit there saying how he want to join me.
Even if i talked with Dallius and i knew he want to see his brother, why should i rush? he didn't mention my brother is in danger or anything else.
Now from game mechanic perspective, you definitely told the player that nothing will change in the past, unless player do something, so If a village is in dire need of food and you travel to present going somewhere else and walk back, nothing will happen with them. Time dose not fellow in the past, It is your game mechanic, now in this event you forget the whole mechanic and killed 1 of the main playable characters, when no one else ever died in the Past.
Yes a lot of monster can take Olian place in term of usefulness in battle, But he is human character that can talk and have personality, and also required for 1 of the achievements.
As for mapping design, there is one more problem, the huge amount of events in the first floor create a serious lag, every 60 frame.
I hope you didn't get offended, I may talk too harsh, but my intentions are only for improvement, nothing else. I apologize because I didn't explain myself clearly.
edit:The trigger for disappearance of Olian is going to wyuto? I have a save before killing the lavaman, but it seems all is lost :P
