The Swallow's Descent Review

@NTC3: Thank you very much for the review!

During the McBacon Jam, I was so busy drawing the character busts and title screen that I never really played through the game until it was released here xD The first time I saw the game in its entirety was actually when Liberty streamed all the McBacon Jam games.

I like to say that with games, the art draws you in, and the story keeps you playing. And psy_wombats is phenomenal at story-writing. I'm really happy with how this game turned out-- well done, team!

NTC3, I'm glad you enjoyed the game, and thanks again for taking the time to write this review!

edit: ooh, and while I was digging through my old McBacon sketches, I found this early concept thing I did. I'm not going to post it in the game images because I don't want to put an unrelated, unfinished thing there, but if you're interested, here it is: http://i.imgur.com/ZPA8TTI.jpg
You can see the beginnings of Astrid and the Cardinal there :D

Winterruption

I can't think of any good reason to not give an extra week, if this is going to be decided via a poll sort of thing.

I doubt any participants would jump up and proclaim "Ooh, yes! I love having less time to do stuff! Sign me up!"

Winterruption

I'm still in the process of making the town map, but I got a title screen done today:

Town map progress:

If you're curious as to what this game is about, the game intro puts it best:

"After serving for eight long years in the 1st Infantry Division of the King's Corps, our young hero has finally returned home!"
"His commanding officer landed him a nice, relaxing post as Captain of the Town Guard..."
"A journey chock full of sidequests awaits! Let's goooo!"

Someone Killed the Butler

@bicfarmer The maid should have been fixed in the latest version... hm, I'll check it out later.

Deduction isn't used very frequently, no. There are a couple more ways you can combine things to learn some additional backstory

for example, you can use it to combine "Happily Married" and "Birthday Girl" to deduce that something is suspicious with the marriage year (married for 8 years) and the age of the daughter (15)

but that wasn't required for completing the game.

Winterruption

Yeah, currently my map is a bit incomplete. I still gotta get the buildings in, then worry about the little details later. Thanks for the advice, Liberty!

Winterruption

Mapping's taking awhile, but I'll get there.
Everything's going to take place within the confines of this town.

Winterruption

@kentona I recommend getting a pixellated/bitmap font: www.dafont.com/bitmap.php

I was digging through some of my old stuff and found a resource I made that is perfect for this event. Feel free to use it!

[Sharing] Give Away Your Extra Programs/Games/etc

Oh, hey, while we're still posting stuff on here, I no longer have App Game Kit 2. I gave it away awhile ago but kinda assumed this topic was dead.

Someone Killed the Butler

@rainisnotcool, I'm glad you liked it!

Unrelated, but I'll have to personally disagree with your username :P Rain is great. It's really soothing to listen to as you lie on your bed, and a good excuse for not getting up to do anything xD As for being outside, I love it as long as I'm not getting wet.

Unless, that is, you're talking about some person named Rain and not the actual thing itself. In which case, ignore me and proceed on your way.
