i beated it in 5-10 minutes. anyway that was interesting experience....
Yup, the game should be about that length! It's a pretty short game, hence the lack of a saving system. I thought including it would break from immersion anyway.
Glad you found it interesting ^^
Basic Non-Combat Menu
@jstomp Find the part in the configuration that says SHOW_KEY_ITEMS = true and change the true to false, then find the part that says SHOW_GOLD_WINDOW = true and change the true to false.
I'll add a thing that tells people where to go for support requests, this is like three years old but still supported. Only thing is I don't check this site super frequently (you were just lucky xD) so it's better to send support through my website or the rpgmakerweb forums.

Why Unreal engine?
It was, unfortunately, a course requirement, as this was made for a game development class. Unreal's much better suited for 3D, so the course's main focus was that, but I was free to do as I liked for the final project. So I set about coding (er, "visually scripting") a VN system that ended up taking half the time I was allotted...
...Did you know Unreal 4 has no native support for dialogue boxes? ._. I ended up using about 16 or so arrays and two variables to contain the entirety of the game's dialogue. 16 mostly for organizational reasons, one for each section between each background shifts and/or choice.

Did you have fun drawing food?
I only drew one thing, the pudding. It was okay I guess. I could do a lot better now, I think ^^
Quest for the Lost Dentures
@AtiyaTheSeeker Not the backgrounds, I cheated a bit in that respect :x Though I think that might be a bit obvious that they're photo filters, haha. I was on a four week deadline for this thing and Unreal 4 is... unsupportive of visual novels to say the least. The VN system with the dialogue boxes took the longest, about one and a half weeks, whereas the images were done in three days.
@tale Thanks!
@tale Thanks!
Rock The World
@bicfarmer Glad to hear you liked it! My favorite strategy is maxing attack and just doing "Come at me bro!" constantly. At the end you could be doing 22 damage with a single hand :D
Someone Stole a Necklace
Well, that certainly flew over my head xD
This game was actually supposed to be made in 10 hours until I realized 2 hours in that I was still trying to get the font and fullscreen to work correctly :x

A Promise of Love Review
Thank you for taking the time to write a review, KatanaHiroshi! I'm glad that you enjoyed the game, short as it may be. It was a bit of a surprise to see so many reviews suddenly popping up on this project xD
You nailed the atmosphere I was trying to convey with this game in your review. There are no jump scares, no prospect of grisly-looking gory creatures of the underworld pulling you into their maws. Only your beloved wife, and a sense of unease. I wouldn't even go so far as to call it "creepy". It's horror in the sense that it gives you a feeling that "something is wrong" but "you're not sure what", at least, not until the end.
A lot of stories with yanderes focus on the "pursuit"-- that is, a yandere pursuing their love interest. However, there's not a lot focusing on "after"-- as in, what happens after the yandere finally is with their beloved? And how does that beloved cope with the possible harm that the yandere did to their family? Or how could anyone love someone who murders everyone who gets close?
At least, that's what this tale tried to explore.
