NHUBI'S PROFILE
It's only a matter of time until my surname is followed by the word 'syndrome'.

I assume you mean you are looking for thief skills within the battles rather than the game in general? If so I'd add stealth attacks, thieves after all are a sneaky lot that stick to the shadows. Not sure I'd go as far a a back-stab or the like, unless Darcy is a thief with a side order of assassin, in which case then it's perfectly justified (as would an attack that ignores defence, as assassins generally only get one shot and they have to make it count). As well as poison, smoke-screen (blind), and maybe a disappear skill, which makes Darcy hard to hit but prevents any action other than supportive towards the party, anything offensive and the disappear, well, disappears. I may be bordering on ninja skills here, but the overlap is somewhat expected.
Perhaps a scan ability as well, if you want to incorporate that dynamic, after all thieves need to be able to read their marks if they are pick-pockets, or they case a job and observe routines if they are burglars. Both of which requires a keen eye and the ability to analyse detail.
Of course if Darcy is a little less sophisticated and is basically a bit of a thug then you could have a mug skill which would equate to a stun and/or bleed attack.
Oh and unrelated to the above, I'm adoring the hell out of that black porcupine armoured man, the purple scarf is just icing on the cup-cake of happy.

The great tree and shadow is lovely, but all the other shadow effects are wrong, you've got them set as if the light source is coming from the lower left, not from behind.

You might want to swap your downstairs tiles over. The perspective makes it look from the bow side like you are stepping down from the forecastle deck to the main deck through the tile square and for the stern side the angle would have to be impossible to get down to the space under the quarterdeck. In fact you don't need those tiles at all, just a doorway next to the upstairs tiles on each side to give you access to the main body of the ship.
(Yes I know stairs go both directions but it's easier to designate the stairs from the main deck to the other decks as 'up' for clarity.)

If the mine is abandoned, why are there lit lanterns? As there's been enough time for plant life to flourish inside the mine shouldn't they have run out of oil by now?
Gambling game and more side quests in the works.
Is that in the current demo or just what you have been working on? It's just I downloaded the 1.1 a week ago and haven't played it yet but if there is an update I'll grab that instead.

Ah your right. Sometimes I really wish Rpg maker came with a spell check :p
Oh, so do I. I don't create games but spelling and grammatical errors in the games I play tend to irk me. I think most designers should take advantage of programmes that do have a spell check option and write out their dialogue and descriptions using those and then just cut and paste them into Maker. It would cut down on so many errors, especially for people who are writing in a second language.

A Site for Sore Eyes (updates)
If this isn't just a report on stuff that has changed and how is works thread and is in fact a 'request change' thread then I have one.
Can we please have a search forum option?
We have a search site option, which is fine if I'm looking for a game but is utterly useless if I'm looking for information. For the last month or so I've decided to try and give a bit back to this site which has over the last few years given me so much. So I decided to play to my strengths and try and write reviews for games that either had fallen by the wayside or games that didn't have any reviews at all. Given that starting point I wanted to make sure my reviews were at least on the level of others that had been accepted so I spent a bit of time reading through the reviews of others and what I picked up is there is an unbelievably large gap between coherent, well articulated and thoughtful reviews and those that I can only describe as fan-wanks. Both of which seem to be accepted. So I went looking for a more impartial baseline, a guide to reviews on this site.
{/start rant} Do you think I could find it? No, I bloody well couldn't. Type review into the 'Google custom search' on this site, and you'll get actual reviews.
This is NOT helpful.
I know plenty of you are going to be able to dig up a review guideline in response to this post, mostly because you wrote it or contributed to it. That's great, but it defeats the purpose. Using the search option for non-game related information on this site doesn't work, and it should. The amount of knowledge, support, information and passion here is phenomenal and should be accessible to everyone, newbie or veteran. So can we please have a specific search option.
{/end rant}.
n.b. If there actually is such a feature, (outlining acceptable submission guidelines, required content, grading system etc.) can someone gently point me toward it and ignore the rant above. As always I'm perfectly happy to be proven wrong when I actually am.
Though that does not negate my original point, finding INFORMATION as opposed to games here isn't straight-forward.
