so you saying i made irradiating levels is being rude. puh-lease.
Yeah Hali, that was uncalled for. I test-played that level and can assure you it contains no radioactive materials.

I might make a Master Hand boss fight.
That would be cool. Which NPC would you use?

Hali did make a lot of custom bosses for his fortress in RMN3, and they weren't bad. I have no idea who Kelly and the Thing were supposed to be though.
Mother Brain is the most versatile precisely because it does nothing.
Fire Mario and Hammer Luigi sounds meh. Wendy as a boss makes no sense without the other six Koopalings. Mother Brain robot sounds awesome.

World 2?: I'm making a level that teaches the player how to deal with Phanto Koopas, and hopefully dispel the notion that they're such impossible enemies. I was planning an optional arena at the end with some decent power-up rewards, but it could be reworked into a Phanto Koopa boss fight if needed.
World 5: SMB1 Bowser resprited as Fire Mario and Hammer Luigi. The player fights as Link resprited as Bowser, so it's a role reversal of the old classic confrontation.
World 7: Koopa Kid, resprited as Wendy. Boom-Boom will be a mini-boss halfway through the stage.
World 8/B: Mother Brain, fixated onto Arachnotron-style mechanical legs, equipped with a gatling gun.
These could also end up as mini-boss stages on their own if they don't seem difficult enough. Let me know what you guys think, and what ideas you have for bosses of your own.

Just don't make them all Mega Man villains.
I would make them all Dr. Robotnik.
Seriously though, I just don't want to see the same bosses we see in every SMBX game. I'd be willing to make custom sprites for everyone just to avoid that.

author=halibabicafrom the event pageAdded this to the submission rules. Do those measures seem fair? Particularly, the one stating no multiple submissions to the same world? One thing I avoided in SRB3 was having the same user's levels clustered together, and I'd like to do so again.
- Levels must have a DIFFICULTY RATING
Submit a text document alongside your level with a difficulty rating from 1 to 8. This game will have eight worlds, so pick the difficulty based on where you'd expect your level to end up. If the judges determine your level to be easier or harder than the number you picked, the world it goes to may be adjusted, or you may buff/nerf the level depending. Worlds have no unified theme, so don't worry about that.
Each participant may submit up to EIGHT LEVELS, and you cannot submit more than one level to the same world. Levels may also be denied for quality reasons. If your level is denied, you will have the chance to fix it up and try again. If you want to submit more than eight, you'll have to withdraw one of your other levels first.
I have no objections.

I thought that was the plan! YES, good gravy!
The developers essentially pick the world their level falls into by announcing a difficulty anyway. That's why I suggested we have the range be from 1-8 instead of the 1-5 margin the series has thus far. It's a lot clearer for both us and the devs as to what kind of difficulty each number entails, since each correlates to a known World and the kind of levels found there.

Anything that involves some level of planning is a step in the right direction.
Also, re: making levels in advance, I don't see why it's a problem as long as the level was made specifically for RMN World.

If we accept this route, then we should consider having each world possess a theme. I personally think that would make for a more cohesive experience.
YES. These are good ideas. There is a reason we keep bringing them up, even if Hali doesn't like them.
And keep in mind that if we don't have to use the traditional world themes (grassland, water, ice, fire, etc.). If the game is presented as an art gallery, maybe each world could represent a different style of art. Nevermind, that's probably gonna be impossible to pull off.
