NIN8HALOS'S PROFILE

I'm a college student. I like games. I'm making some with Super Mario Bros X. I also like to watch Let's Plays. Mostly BoboTheVulture and MysteriousJG.

Green Greens: Locking the exit behind the green blocks doesn't add anything. I don't know about you but any time in a game where the game goes "You made it to the end, now go back through the level and find what you missed!" it's probably just going to annoy me. I'd suggest killing them and putting a 1-up or something in the pirate ship.

Yes, I strongly agree with this. In fact, I'd say at least 75% of the switch blocks in RMN levels serve only to slow down and irritate the player. I don't enjoy having to backtrack through areas to hit switch blocks.

I think as long as we pick good levels and make a good world map or hub level, this game will turn out fine. Unfortunately, any RMN Bros game is going to end up looking like a mismatched mess because of the very nature of the project.

I think we really need to work on how the levels are tied together. A world map might be fine, but the problem with that is you can't see how many stars you've collected in each level.

Just so you're all aware, I am approaching this game very much from the mindset of disproving the naysayers. People like Brickroad who will come into this looking for some reason, any reason, to not like it.

Did he even give RMN Bros 3 a try? I can't remember anymore. I kinda wish he'd play one of my games though.

I would have voted for Mario in Heat and Coffee and Donuts 2, but they're my levels, so I couldn't. Fortress Aflame is too long though.

I really liked SMB2 Dessert, Lakitu Bros, and Sand Tombs. Didn't like Space Ace because I'm not a fan of the Clown Car; it's big, clunky, and makes it hard to design a really interesting level around.

Checkpoint Graveyard wasn't a bad level, but I didn't really feel it had much going for it.

There are a few levels from the two-vote list I'd like to make cases for. Mario in Heat definitely comes to mind. I'm okay with including some gimmicky levels, as I sometimes find them to be the more memorable ones. As long as we don't go overboard, I think it wouldn't be a problem. Like I've been touting all along; knock it for being poorly designed, not for being out of the ordinary!

I agree.

Wait, why are we removing Happy Hopping Plants?
And as long as we're arguing for removal of levels, I think Crystal Cave's switch block section makes it super annoying.
Spinning Hazard should definitely be in the last world. That's the only level I could never beat.

Bug Blog

I'll check it out soon. Still wrapping up my own project.

Mario's Mansion 2

Who made the title graphic for this page?

Bouncy Bouncy is long and slow. It gets boring after a couple minutes. Eversion Aversion was interesting, but not fun or pretty enough.

Wait, were we allowed to vote for our own levels? Cuz I couldn't remember before, so I just didn't.

Eagerly awaiting.
