SBESTER'S PROFILE
I've been an active member for quite a few years now. I started my RMN career by releasing the Eden Legacy Trilogy of games (each entry took 4 months of nonstop work) within one year, and I've gradually shifted to creating other games as well. I now have 3 flagship series: Eden Legacy, Fragile Hearts, and Mafiosi (being remade for commercial release as Crime Opera). I'm pretty much solely focused on the Crime Opera series of visual novels right now, as my band and job currently take up most of my free time.
Currently working on
-Crime Opera Trilogy (Mafiosi 1, 2, & 3 edited, with all original resources)

RMN Closing Down April 2nd
WIP,
While I can relate to your sentiments about the way people have treated one another here, I agree with many others that it should only be the forums that are eliminated. RMN represents something I've never seen before in indie game making, and despite some squabbling between petty members, it's very positive. The game pages are wonderful, and it would be a shame to close these.
It's sad that even now, I see members blaming "newbies" for the closure of this site. Those outspoken sentiments are the true root of the problem we've had here. I liked that fact that RMN hosted such a wide array of talents, and I don't believe that any other place will ever fill the void this site is leaving on the internet by closing.
Perhaps the harshest truth about this is that many would-be developers will cease to pursue their game making projects as a result of this closure, while those that have strived relentlessly to push out the lower quality projects from the site (in order to gain more exposure for their own games) will find other ways to promote their work. I really believe that you created this site as a means to nurture game creation talents, but by closing it, more harm will come than good. If it does close for good, then these "elite" creators have won the day, and we'll have potentially lost a new generation of potentially great developers, who lost their source for well written tutorials, in-depth design discussions, and exemplary rm games.
Sure, there are other places to go, but they aren't nearly as good, and there's a reason that rm developers here advance so well compared to other rm communities. We should not ignore this.
Anyways, I've said my peace. There are so many other things I would like to express, and individual members I would like to express them to... but for now, I believe the wisest course of action is to sit back and hope that your mind can be changed.

author=WolfCoderauthor=LockeZExactly, you and me both. This is really the only thing I also kind of wonder about this project.
He claimed his game's other reviews were actually removed (presumably by the RMN mods) which was the last straw for him. I don't know if they were removed because there was evidence to suggest he wrote them himself, or if he's lying or just wrong about the removal of those reviews, or if the authors are the ones who took them down, or what. I'd like to know more about that, as it does actually seem unfair for all his game's good reviews to be deleted, unless there were some seriously problematic circumstances.
I actually like so-bad-its-awesome video games and this game is much better than horrible- it's transcendent... If only I get a chance to find out if I'm right! It's a shame he removed the game, I was going to recommend people to play it.
Y'know, I played Final Tear 1, and that sums it up. It was actually entertaining as hell with the "all your base r belong to us" type dialogue, and I wanted to play further than I did. The only thing that prevented me from doing so was that it was too grind heavy and the learning curve was too steep. That's why it bothers me that so many people chased him off the site, I enjoyed that game more than I do most other rm games here. It may have been bad, but was a fuck load more entertaining than some of the more acclaimed titles here.

You mean you arrogantly lashed out at everyone for doing something exactly like what you've done on multiple occasions, and get mad when they retaliate? Yeah, the nerve of these people.
Just because he's a hypocrite, it doesn't immediately invalidate his point.
super_stunner has been gang raped. And I, personally, feel bad for him, despite agreeing with all of the criticism that has been brought up.

Yeah I did that right before taking this and it just seemed too square,, but this does look just as bad, if not worse. Looked good to me last night on 1 hour of sleep over two days lol. I may just take the fire pit out completely.

I plan on having a moving picture intro, but it'll be a while before I actually sit down and try it. As it stands, this is the only motion pic clip in the game so far.

Short Games vs Longer Games
Very few short games ever interest me, unfortunately. Even in the rm scene, I like going for games that are at least around 7 hours or more. I know there are a bunch of half hour projects here that have gotten some acclaim though, so who knows, maybe one day I'll try them.
I did like The Encephalon, now that I think about it.

Release Plan
Woah, ok...
another day like today and I could be done the second part as well! 3 more battles and it's done!

Dude, there's an entire thread of people trying to work through your game, why quit when you're getting all this free attention? They're not subjecting themselves to 90 hours+ just to trash it, I feel there's genuine want to help you understand the problems. Lots of people here would kill to have people sign up to play their games.
