I've been an active member for quite a few years now. I started my RMN career by releasing the Eden Legacy Trilogy of games (each entry took 4 months of nonstop work) within one year, and I've gradually shifted to creating other games as well. I now have 3 flagship series: Eden Legacy, Fragile Hearts, and Mafiosi (being remade for commercial release as Crime Opera). I'm pretty much solely focused on the Crime Opera series of visual novels right now, as my band and job currently take up most of my free time.

Eden Legacy III: The Fall of Eden
It isn't far into production, but many of the base elements have been brought over from the second one, so it will be ready to enter the CRAZY production stages by the time I release the second game. I have the whole thing planned out, as amerkevicius said, but haven't really done anything on it aside from a few chipset tests and steadily working on the database. I did the same thing with the second installment, and believe me, it's well on its way to completion.

Originality...is Overrated
I still believe this thread has some relevance here, as I have seen a few people basing part of their reviews on the originality-factor. It doesn't take into consideration those of us who are trying to be as generic as possible, which many of us strive for here. For me, it all comes down to creating a feeling of nostalgia with these 2d games, and a lot of the time you can't achieve that without conforming to old ideas.
If you can't do originality the right way, I'd prefer you stuck to what has worked in the past. In this way, being unoriginal is a good thing.

I understand where you're coming from, but honestly, even when people do credit the work of others, no one actually reads who made or edited the stuff. I cite people in my games, but I couldn't tell you the name of even one of those people, it just isn't important. Call me unthankful, but I'm sure I'm not alone.
